FV: Chapter 59

Lin Luoqing, “?????”

Lin Luoqing was helpless. “I just thought of it.”

“Really? You’ve been secretly in love with your male god for 15 years. You weren’t jealous at all after finding out that your male god was ready to marry someone else?”

Lin Luoqing, “……”

Yes, according to his character, he should indeed be jealous.

“I ate it,” Lin Luoqing replied helplessly.

“What did you eat?”

Lin Luoqing was speechless. “I was jealous. I ate your vinegar with Lin Luojing and was jealous that you wanted to marry someone else, okay?!”

Xiao Li, who was driving, thought, ‘Oh, I couldn’t see it. Our madam is quite jealous.’

Ji Yuxiao was satisfied and explained to him in a gentle voice, “Don’t be jealous. At that time, I was just forced by the situation. I thought he was relatively suitable and it had nothing to do with feelings, rest assured.”

Lin Luoqing was a bit puzzled when he heard this. What type of situation could force Ji Yuxiao to marry Lin Luojing?

Even though Luojing was unwilling and he replace him, Ji Yuxiao still agreed.

What did he and Lin Luojing have in common?

Lin Luoqing quickly thought about it. They looked good, had an ordinary family background and weren’t liked by the Ji family.

After knowing that he wasn’t liked by the Ji family, Ji Yuxiao hurriedly took him home to meet Father Ji two days after they got married, taking advantage of that opportunity to announce his departure from the Ji Group.

Why leave the Ji Group?

Was it because he wanted to restrain himself?

Or did the Ji Group have an unknown danger?

Wait. Lin Luoqing suddenly remembered something. The Ji family, Ji Yuling—Before Ji Yuling died, he was the real leader of the Ji Group.

So… did Ji Yuxiao suspect that his brother didn’t die from an accident but a man-made accident—a murder?

Lin Luoqing instinctively looked at Ji Yuxiao.

Ji Yuxiao smiled. “Why? You don’t believe me?”

Lin Luoqing hurriedly nodded. “I believe you.”

He temporarily suppressed his thoughts and smiled. “You aren’t blind. How could you really want to marry him?”

“That’s true.” Ji Yuxiao nodded.

Lin Luoqing looked at him, smiled again and silently looked away.

The sun was shining brightly outside the window but Lin Luoqing felt a bit cold. If Ji Yuling didn’t die in an accident, who was the murderer? What was the cause of death?

Ji Yuxiao left the Ji family so resolutely and acted defeated and broken. Was he suspicious of the Ji family’s people?

But the other person’s status must not be low if they could get benefits from Ji Yuling’s death. Was it the Ji family?

How could it be?!

Lin Luoqing couldn’t believe it. In the end, they were blood relatives. How could they do such a thing?

He didn’t want to believe it. It was too cruel, too cruel for Ji Yuxiao.

He changed his thinking direction and started from the original book, wanting to see if there were any clues.

Ji Leyu had taken revenge on many people when he became an adult, but most of those people were those who had hurt himself and Ji Yuxiao. He didn’t mention his biological father much.

So did he know that his father died from a murder rather than an accident?

If he didn’t know, why was that?

The other person planned to kill Ji Yuling but let his son grow up without doing anything?

Lin Luoqing’s eyes widened suddenly like he had thought of something.

Ji Yuxiao!

Yes, Ji Yuxiao.

Ji Yuxiao must’ve found the real culprit behind the scenes and taken revenge. However, Ji Leyu was too young, so he didn’t tell Ji Leyu these cruel things.

He died but by that time, the murderer behind the scenes had already been solved by him.

This was why Ji Leyu could grow up safely without knowing anything.

He didn’t live well after Ji Yuxiao’s death, but fortunately, he grew up alive.

Then did Ji Yuxiao’s departure a year later have anything to do with the murderer behind the scenes?

Lin Luoqing once again tried to recall the plot about Ji Yuxiao and Ji Leyu in the book. But no matter how hard he searched, he couldn’t find any information about the murderer behind the scenes.

This was also normal. If Ji Yuxiao had really solved the person without Ji Leyu knowing before he died, Ji Leyu would never know about this. Then there would be no relevant content from his perspective.

As a reader, Lin Luoqing could only look at the people and things related to Ji Leyu from his perspective. Naturally, he wouldn’t be able to find anything that wasn’t mentioned in the novel.

Lin Luoqing sighed and felt a dull sadness in his heart.

It was for Ji Yuling, who was calculated against, for Ji Leyu, who lost his most cherished people time and time again and for Ji Yuxiao, who had always been a good brother and uncle.

How could someone like him die? How could he die?

He should live a good life forever.

After all, he was so sincere, kind and righteous. He deserved the best ending.

He shouldn’t have died so young.

Ji Yuxiao saw he was looking down and not speaking. He wondered in his heart, ‘What’s wrong? Don’t you believe it? Why do you look like this? You aren’t really jealous, are you?’

“What are you thinking about?” He asked Lin Luoqing.

Lin Luoqing stared at him for a long time before smiling.

“It’s nothing,” he replied. “I’m going to film in a few days, so I’m a bit sad.”

Ji Yuxiao also felt sad when he heard this.

After all, he was likely to get insomnia again when Lin Luoqing was gone.

“Oh, I am also sad now that you said this.”

“Then you can think of me more after I leave,” Lin Luoqing told him gently.

Ji Yuxiao chuckled. “Okay.”

“Of course, I’ll miss you as well.”

“Really?”

Lin Luoqing nodded.

He smiled brightly, his eyes clear. “I think of you and know where my home is. So you should also think of me more and don’t forget that you still have a home.”

Ji Yuxiao was stunned for a moment. He vaguely felt that these words seemed to have a deep meaning, but he couldn’t figure out the deep meaning.

“Okay,” he agreed.

Lin Luoqing looked at him with a smile and held his hand.

There was nothing he could do in terms of helping Ji Yuxiao find the true culprit. Moreover, Ji Yuxiao didn’t seem to need his help. Ji Yuxiao didn’t even want him to know about it.

Thus, Lin Luoqing didn’t plan to interfere. In the novel, Ji Yuxiao could find the murderer within a year. Lin Luoqing believed he could do it this time as well.

Lin Luoqing really hoped he would be safe and have more ties on the road of pursuing the murderer. This way, Ji Yuxiao would be more reluctant to leave at the end.

They were the closest people in the world, but they were also independent individuals with different trajectories. Lin Luoqing was willing to stand by Ji Yuxiao’s side and walk beside him. He was also willing to give Ji Yuxiao support and let him go into battle alone.

He was Ji Yuxiao’s best partner and his most reliable supporter.

It was almost 5 o’clock when the two of them returned home. Aunt Zhang asked them what they wanted for dinner before hurriedly going into the kitchen to cook.

Ji Leyu heard the door open. He turned his head and saw Lin Luoqing and Ji Yuxiao appearing at the door. He instantly put down his book and ran over excitedly.

“You’re back,” Ji Leyu said happily.

Lin Luoqing nodded, touched his head and asked him, “Did you obediently listen to your brother?”

Ji Leyu nodded, his tone cheerful. “I’ve read half a book!”

Ji Yuxiao was surprised. “Really?”

“Of course, I’m so obedient.”

He tilted his head and showed off his cuteness to Ji Yuxiao.

Ji Yuxiao smiled and pinched his face. “Then Dad praises you.”

Ji Leyu immediately smiled, his eyes curving.

The next second, he heard Ji Yuxiao say, “It seems there is some truth in the saying that ‘those who were close to vermilion are red and those who are close to ink are black’. In the future, I will set up a small desk beside Fei Fei’s desk. You can read books together with your brother.”

Ji Leyu, “……”

The smile on Ji Leyu’s face disappeared.

Lin Luoqing saw the change in expression and almost burst out laughing. Who would’ve thought that the big demon king in the novel was just an ordinary child who didn’t like to read books and was similar to his peers when he was a child?!

He looked at Ji Yuxiao and persuaded him, “Don’t tease him anymore. Xiao Yu is still young and can play for two more years. Besides, he has good grades. There is no need for him to read every day.”

Ji Leyu nodded quickly while feeling that Lin Luoqing’s words were simply right!

He was so smart that he could score 100% on the test without reading. There was no need to read every day!

What was so good about reading books? It was fun to play games!

Ji Yuxiao was just teasing him at first. After this teasing, his bad taste was satisfied and he naturally didn’t insist any longer. “Okay, then I won’t make you a small desk.”

Ji Leyu sighed with relief and said sweetly, “Dad is so good.”

Ji Yuxiao rubbed his head while thinking that he was really cute.

He talked with the two children for a while before going to the study to deal with other matters.

Lin Luoqing had nothing to do, so he simply sat in Lin Fei’s bedroom to accompany the two of them.

Ji Leyu was thinking about the purpose of Lin Luoqing’s trip. He took advantage of when Lin Fei went to the bathroom to ask curiously, “Dad, have you taken Brother’s things back?”

“Not yet,” Lin Luoqing replied. “We have to wait for a while. Asking for money is always a slow process.”

Ji Leyu nodded while feeling a bit regretful. “Okay.”

Lin Luoqing looked at him while remembering that Ji Leyu’s father might’ve died in a man-made accident rather than a real one. He couldn’t help feeling distressed in his heart.

He rubbed Ji Leyu’s head before kissing him. Ji Leyu blinked in a slightly puzzled manner.

‘He still doesn’t know anything,’ Lin Luoqing thought. ‘He is unfortunate but he is also lucky. He has experienced the cruelty of the world. Fortunately, Ji Yuxiao still made his world pure and flawless.’

It was also because of this that once Ji Yuxiao left, the world he made was torn apart. Ji Leyu was exposed to the real world and could only enter the abyss step by step to protect himself.

He didn’t actively want to be a cruel and ruthless person. He disliked reading and doing homework like most ordinary children. However, his growth was far more difficult and dark than ordinary children.

Lin Luoqing looked at him with a smile. “Xiao Yu, do you have anything you want?”

Ji Leyu cocked his head and thought for a while. Finally, he clapped his hands, his voice soft, sticky and sweet. “I want my dad to accompany me forever.”

“I want our family to always be together.”

Lin Luoqing nodded. “Okay.”

Ji Leyu smiled. “Then what does Dad want?”

Lin Luoqing held his chin. “I want you and your brother to be healthy and happy, and your father to be safe and healthy.”

“What about you? We are all healthy. Then what about you?”

“Of course, I also have to be safe and healthy. How else can I watch you and your brother grow up?” Lin Luoqing said with a smile.

Ji Leyu nodded fiercely. “Yes.”

Lin Fei came out of the bathroom and heard the two of them talking about this topic.

Lin Luoqing asked him, “Do you have anything you want?”

Lin Fei was silent for a moment and didn’t speak.

Ji Leyu urged him. “Say it. Brother, what do you want?”

Lin Fei wanted to be able to protect himself, grow up safely and make a lot of money.

However, he was too embarrassed to say this in front of Lin Luoqing. He only said, “I don’t have anything I want.”

He always looked like he had no desires or needs, so this answer fit.

Lin Luoqing didn’t believe it, but Ji Leyu was here and he was worried about Lin Fei feeling ashamed. Therefore, he didn’t continue to ask. He thought about asking again when the two of them were alone for a while.

However, Ji Leyu was still young and thought that Lin Fei really didn’t want anything.

Thus, he said generously, “Then I’ll share what I want with you.”

“What do you want?” Lin Fei asked him.

“I want Dad to be with us forever and for our family to always be together.”

What he said before was ‘I want Dad to accompany me forever.’ Now that Lin Fei asked, he thoughtfully changed it to ‘us.’

Lin Fei listened and felt it would be good if this were really the case.

He didn’t refuse and gave a low hum of agreement.

Ji Leyu shook his little head. “Then our wishes will be the same~”

Lin Fei didn’t refute him. “Yes.”

Ji Leyu was happy. He didn’t know why but he liked Lin Fei wanting the same thing as himself.

Lin Luoqing saw his sweetly smiling face, mood soft.

When other children wanted dolls and toy cars, Lin Fei and Ji Leyu had already abandoned this innocence that belonged to children. They had experienced the pain of separation and were forced to grow. Their wishes had long changed and what they pursued and hoped for was the innate family and love that others took for granted.

Lin Luoqing bent down and hugged them both, feeling bitter heartache.

“It will happen,” he told them. “You are so obedient that you can have whatever you want.”

Ji Leyu suddenly felt a bit guilty. He wasn’t as obedient as he appeared. Would he get what he wanted?

Then he quickly let go of this feeling. Lin Fei wanted the same thing as him and was so obedient. If Lin Fei got it then he would also get it.

Ji Leyu laughed while thinking he was really smart.

I like how Luoqing trusts so much in Yuxiao and doesn’t need to be all up in his business to have a relationship, real mature. Babies so cute today too! Thank you for the chapter!! For your hard work!

Yuxiao dreading the day his “sleeping pill” flying away 🤣🤣🤣. And Leyu being sly with his wish enactment lol. This chapter full of sour fluff. The realisation of real novel situation really made you felt sad for both Ji Yuxiao and Ji Leyu, but the fluffs really helped dilute it a bit. Qingqing is all purpose medicine!
