FV: Chapter 342 Part 2

For three days in a row, Lin Fei was forced to watch the situation of his young self in the dream.

He was doing well and happy.

Lin Luoqing and Ji Yuxiao got married, and he and Ji Leyu became nominal brothers. They were brothers and were favored by their two fathers. Lin Luoqing’s love was gentle and Ji Yuxiao was also beyond his expectations. Ji Yuxiao wasn’t a strict father. Sometimes, he even teased them deliberately.

In addition, little Lin Fei had a study.

The large ceiling of the study was painted as a starry night.

This was what surprised Lin Fei the most. It was also from here that he truly realized that he was pampered. Lin Luoqing and Ji Yuxiao really loved him.

Otherwise, no one would make such a large study room for a young child and place different books in different categories.

He watched as little Lin Fei raised his head and stared at the bookcase in front of him as if he was looking for a book. He recalled for the first time that when he was a child, he should’ve wanted a study.

They had been watching the teacher play ‘Beauty and the Beast’ in the classroom. The male classmates were envious that the beast was a prince and the female classmates were happy that the princess and the prince were together. He was the only one who remembered the study in the beast’s castle. He never thought there would be such a big and beautiful study.

But at that time, it was extremely difficult for him to even finish reading with peace of mind. How could he be allowed to fantasize about this study that had nothing to do with him?

However, the little self in front of him had such a study.

It was even full of books for him to look up and flip through at any time.

Lin Fei had some indescribable feelings at this moment. He seemed to be very relieved and a bit happy.

What he didn’t have, little Lin Fei in front of him had.

This feeling made him a bit uncomfortable.

Little Lin Fei turned around. It seemed that he had finally found the book he was looking for.

He opened the bookcase and reached for a book.

The book was placed a bit taller than him. He stood on tiptoe and could only barely reach it.

Lin Fei saw it and his heart moved. He took the initiative to go over and help little Lin Fei take out the book.

It was strange that no matter what he did or how he tried it out before, he couldn’t touch anything and no one else could see him.

But at this moment, he successfully took out the book.

The young Lin Fei turned around and saw a tall and handsome man he didn’t know.

Little Lin Fei blinked and stared at his face quietly.

He felt that he should be surprised. After all, the person in front of him appeared in his own home without warning. This was very dangerous. He should feel panic and fear.

But he couldn’t feel scared no matter what. He vaguely felt that this man wouldn’t hurt him.

“Here.” Lin Fei handed over the book.

Little Lin Fei took it and looked at him silently.

He felt that this man looked similar. He was a bit like Lin Luoqing, but he was taller and more heroic than Lin Luoqing.

Lin Fei blinked. He belatedly discovered that this man looked a bit like himself.

Not just a little. It was a lot similar.

“Who are you?” He asked softly.

“Lin Fei,” the other person said calmly.

The young Lin Fei was a bit surprised. Was this really himself?

He looked Lin Fei up and down before asking doubtfully, “Are you me when I am grown up?”

Lin Fei was surprised by this question.

When he first saw little Lin Fei in front of him, he thought this child was his younger self.

Then later, he didn’t think so.

They grew up in different environments. He didn’t think that the child in front of him would grow up to be like him in the future.

This child would have a better future, so he probably wouldn’t grow up to be Lin Fei.

“I don’t know,” Lin Fei said calmly. “Logically speaking, I should be, but maybe not.”

Little Lin Fei didn’t quite understand what he meant. “What do you mean?”

Lin Fei leaned on the desk behind him and said warmly, “You have a different growth trajectory from me.”

He continued, “For example, I have never set foot in a villa like the one you are living in now.”

The young Lin Fei was a bit surprised but his face was still as calm as ever.

He asked, “Then you haven’t met Father?”

“Are you talking about Ji Yuxiao? I haven’t met him.”

“Where is Dad?”

“I don’t have a dad,” Lin Fei said calmly. “If you are talking about Lin Luoqing, he isn’t my dad. He is my uncle in a physical sense. It is a pity that we don’t get along. We parted ways very early.”

Little Lin Fei listened to his words and sensitively realized something.

“You don’t get along?”’

Lin Fei nodded.

“—Was he unpleasant?”

“Yes.”

Little Lin Fei lowered his eyes. He seemed to be thinking about something. After a long time, he asked, “So the situation where your uncle scolded you in the morning, only to be very good to you in the afternoon, eating with you, helping you take a bath and telling you that he is getting married didn’t happen, right?”

Lin Fei nodded. “Yes.”

The young Lin Fei already knew the problem. He met Lin Luoqing from another world. It wasn’t his uncle Lin Luoqing, but his dad Lin Luoqing. However, his grown-up self didn’t encounter him.

Thus, the adult Lin Fei’s life didn’t change. They still hated each other and naturally left each other early.

You didn’t get your flowerpot, did you?

The young Lin Fei looked at him and suddenly realized a problem.

He was a bit uncomfortable and didn’t know what to say for a while.

Lin Fei looked at him and lowered his head. He asked calmly, “Is there anything else you want to ask me?”

Little Lin Fei thought for a while before raising his head again. He didn’t know what to ask again. The Lin Luoqing he met wasn’t met by his adult self. Thus, his adult self didn’t meet Ji Yuxiao either. “Have you met Xiao Yu?”

“Ji Leyu?” Lin Fei nodded. “I’ve seen him once or twice.”

“Only once or twice?”

Lin Fei nodded.

“Then your relationship isn’t good.” This was a statement.

Lin Fei smiled and answered him. “It isn’t bad, but it doesn’t matter. To me, he is a stranger.”

The young Lin Fei listened and couldn’t imagine it.

Ji Leyu was so clingy and liked him so much that if someone touched him, Ji Leyu would drive that person away. But when they grew up, they were just strangers.

Could Ji Leyu accept it?

If no one was watching over him, wouldn’t his little thoughts and bad intentions be realized? He would do things he shouldn’t do.

“Is he very bad?” Little Lin Fei asked in a worried manner.

Lin Fei saw the concern in his eyes and found it interesting. “It seems that you also know what type of person he is.”

Little Lin Fei didn’t speak. Of course, he knew far better than anyone else how much bad intentions were hidden in Ji Leyu’s bones.

“Didn’t Father find out?”

Lin Fei looked at him and didn’t know how to answer for a moment.

Ji Yuxiao was dead. Of course, he didn’t find out. He didn’t have the time or chance to find out.

Seeing that he didn’t speak, little Lin Fei asked curiously, “No?”

“No,” Lin Fei gave him a vague answer. “I haven’t met Ji Yuxiao.”

It seemed that he hadn’t noticed it. This was expected of his father. He always thought that Ji Leyu was the most well-behaved child.

Little Lin Fei nodded and thought this was fine. If he didn’t know, he wouldn’t be surprised. Ji Leyu would always pretend to be obedient in front of him and not do anything too extreme.

“Thank you,” little Lin Fei said softly.

Lin Fei shook his head. “You’re welcome.”

“Wait for me.” Little Lin Fei looked at him and suddenly said something. Then he ran out.

He returned to his bedroom, took his wallet, went to find Lin Luoqing and went outside with him.

Lin Fei wanted to follow and take a look. However, he found that he was trapped in this villa and couldn’t go out.

It seemed that since little Lin Fei asked him to wait here, he had to wait.

This dream might not only belong to him, but also to the child who had the same face, name, personality, and hobbies as himself but had a completely different experience.

Lin Fei returned to little Lin Fei’s study, took a book, sat quietly on the bay window and read it.

The bay window was covered with a white wool carpet. On the carpet, there were also several pots of cacti.

Lin Fei reached out and touched the thorns of the cacti. It wasn’t painful. It was very soft, like a child who hadn’t grown up and wanted to protect himself.

He vaguely remembered that he seemed to have liked cacti for a while when he was younger, but that was a long time ago

The sun was shining brightly onto the white pages of the book. It emitted the fragrance of ink. Lin Fei looked at the words on it, calmly and seriously.

He watched quietly for a while before he heard the noise. It was little Lin Fei who was back.

Lin Fei closed the book and looked back at him.

“I read one of your books,” he said calmly.

Little Lin Fei nodded. He generously didn’t argue with him.

He closed the door while holding a pot of cactus in his hand.

“Here you go.” Little Lin Fei walked up to him, stretched out his hand and handed over the flowerpot.

Lin Fei was stunned for a moment as if he didn’t quite understand and didn’t know what to say.

He stared deeply at the child in front of him. Many words settled in his heart.

“Why did you give me this?” Lin Fei asked him.

Little Lin Fei’s expression was very calm but there was a slight light in his eyes. He said, “In this way, you will have your own flowerpot.”

Lin Fei listened to these words and felt like he had returned to his childhood. It was as if he had crossed through time and seen his former self.

In fact, he had already given up on wanting a flowerpot.

He already had the ability to adapt to any situation and he had the strength to survive wherever he went. He had long accepted that he was like a dandelion, and had long since given up on the flowerpot he once longed for but couldn’t get.

There might be some people in the world who were trapped in one place, trapped in their past desires.

But this wasn’t the case with Lin Fei.

He was a person with a strong psychological quality. He calmly accepted everything and every period of himself. After discovering that he couldn’t have it, he didn’t hesitate to give up on his previous illusions. He continued to be strong and unyielding, moving forward fearfully.

Thus, his life was tough and tenacious.

But now, the child in front of him gave him a flowerpot.

It was a flowerpot he longed for at that age but never got.

A flowerpot that he had given up on and no one knew about but himself.

Lin Fei looked at little Lin Fei in front of him. He laughed happily from the bottom of his heart for the first time.

He already had the ability to give flowerpots to others. He also grew up really well, far better than Lin Fei.

Lin Fei hadn’t expected that he could have such an ability. He was pleased and moved. Suddenly, he remembered the sentence in the book he read as he waited for the child in front of him: At that moment, your random gift was like a shooting star on an autumn night, igniting a fire in the depths of my life.

He reached out and took the flowerpot from the other person’s hand. He looked at the simple and sturdy flowerpot in front of him before saying sincerely, “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome,” little Lin Fei said softly.

“Do you have any wishes?” Lin Fei asked him. “ I can help you realize it.”

Little Lin Fei thought about it for a long time before finally saying to him, “If possible, can you help me take care of Father and Xiao Yu over there?”

He said, “I want you to protect Father and take good care of the grown-up Xiao Yu.”

Lin Fei was a bit surprised. “Isn’t there Lin Luoqing?”

The young Lin Fei shook his head.

He said frankly, “The Lin Luoqing you have there isn’t my dad.”

“What do you mean?” Lin Fei was confused.

“My dad isn’t my uncle. He is Lin Luoqing from another world. You didn’t meet my dad, you met Uncle. I don’t like Uncle. I only like my dad.”

Little Lin Fei was a bit regretful. “You didn’t meet him.”

Otherwise, he would’ve given you a flowerpot when you were young.

Lin Fei finally understood.

He finally knew why everything here was different from what he had experienced.

Lin Luoqing had changed, so everything changed.

He was no longer the Lin Luoqing that Lin Fei knew, so he didn’t reject Ji Yuxiao. He married Ji Yuxiao, raised the young Lin Fei well and gave him a new and complete family.

Was there such a thing in the world? Lin Fei felt it was unreal, but he could meet the young Lin Fei in front of him. So what else was impossible?

Lin Fei looked at the young-looking child in front of him and asked him, “Do you want to protect Ji Yuxiao?”

Little Lin Fei nodded. No matter what, he wanted to grow up. He once hoped that he could protect himself when he grew up. Later, he hoped that he could protect his family. Lin Luoqing wasn’t in his world when he grew up, so he hoped that his adult self would protect his only relatives, Ji Yuxiao and Ji Leyu.

Lin Fei looked at the hope in the child’s eyes and became increasingly unable to tell him that Ji Yuxiao was dead.

He was silent for a moment before agreeing, “Okay.”

If Ji Leyu was in need in the future, he would help for the sake of the child in front of him.

Little Lin Fei instantly smiled. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.”

Lin Fei stretched out his hand and gently touched his cheek.

His cheeks were tender and soft. He was still very young and had a long way to go, but Lin Fei believed he would grow up well, far better than Lin Fei himself.

He looked at the child in front of him softly and slowly hugged him.

When Lin Fei woke up again, a new day had begun and the alarm clock was ringing. Lin Fei was stunned for a moment. Then he reached out to turn off the alarm clock.

It was 7:30. It was time to get up.

Lin Fei sat up. Then he suddenly thought of something and looked down. The bed was empty. The flowerpot that little Lin Fei had given him hadn’t followed him here.

It stayed in his dream.

Lin Fei felt a bit regretful, or rather, very sorry.

He really had such emotions. Most of the time, he looked at everything around him indifferently and experienced everything without any emotions.

This time, he was very sorry.

The child was full of tenderness and sincerity and gave him the flowerpot. But he didn’t bring it back.

Lin Fei sighed regretfully and sat quietly on the bed for a while.

On the other side, little Lin Fei also woke up from his dream.

He felt as if he had a very important dream but he couldn’t remember it.

Dreams were always like this. The dream was very clear but after waking up, it was vague.

Lin Fei thought very hard and vaguely remembered something. It was as if he dreamed of himself when grown up. He looked mature, reliable and handsome.

Lin Fei turned his head to look at the windowsill not far away. He looked at his little flowerpot on the windowsill. He was always full of hope and expectation for growing up. But now, he was also willing to cherish the days when he was just a child and cherish the time he came from. Lin Fei and Ji Yuxiao gave him the love of adults.

Once his heart relaxed, he was finally willing to slow down and be a well-loved child who hadn’t grown up yet.

Very sad the flowerpot couldn’t follow Boss Fei Fei. It’s amazing to see yourself as a child and realize how good you are. I hope he can heal. And that Ji Leyu stops marrying people to dogs.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR BEING AWESOME!!!
