Half a month later, the Interstellar Alliance finally contacted Xu Sili again.
However, to his surprise, the person who contacted him this time was a stranger.
“Hello, Your Majesty Roland.” The other person introduced himself.
“I’m Brent. I have been sent by the Interstellar Alliance to contact you regarding the follow-up matters of the Genius Competition.”
“Excuse me, is it convenient for Lord Guardian to join us?”
Xu Sili looked at the man.
The other person was dressed in formal attire. He had a good figure and temperament, and had an elite air.
Judging from his shoulder straps, his rank in the Interstellar Alliance wasn’t low.
Apparently, the Interstellar Alliance attached great importance to the Roland Empire and reassigned his contact person. But…
“Where is Adrian?”
Xu Sili didn’t answer the question but asked his own doubts.
Brent paused before saying, “Adrian has received a mission to another planet. I will serve as your liaison officer from now on.”
“With my ability, I will definitely satisfy you and your nation. Please rest assured.”
Xu Sili frowned deeply.
He didn’t know much about the Interstellar Alliance and wasn’t very familiar with Adrian, but he wasn’t an ungrateful person.
Previously when the Roland Empire was in the most difficult times, it was Adrian who had always been helping them. He even used his own channels to purchase a lot of things for Xu Sili.
Those things were based on the Interstellar Alliance’s rankings of the Roland Empire at the time. There were supplies that couldn’t be seen on the purchase list.
Xu Sili would always remember this favor.
Now…
Was Adrian being taken advantage of?
The Interstellar Alliance’s headquarters.
“Team Leader, how could they do this?”
Yaheng said with red eyes as he looked at Adrian, who was packing his things.
“You are the one who developed the Roland Empire. Why did they suddenly send someone here and transfer you away?”
Originally, the Roland Empire was now valued by the higher-ups due to the Guardian and his salary was doubled. Yaheng had been extremely happy when he heard that new people would be sent over.
Finally, someone could help share the work! In addition, his basic salary had increased. For a small employee like him, there was naturally nothing happier than a promotion and a pay raise.
He was somewhat dissatisfied when he heard that someone with a much higher rank than Adrian was parachuted in and took the position of team leader, but he still felt that Adrian would be the deputy team leader.
The result was that Adrian was transferred to another nation that was ranked two or three places higher than the Roland Empire.
To put it nicely, it was a promotion. However, anyone with eyes could see how much of a scam it was.
Adrian had been working in the Roland Empire for nearly ten years. He was also responsible for the first two gaming cabins and the base station of the Star Network in the Roland Empire.
Without Adrian, the Guardian might not have a chance to shine in the Genius Competition.
Now, the Roland Empire had finally risen but Adrian was transferred away just like this…
“Team Leader, I don’t accept it!” Yaheng said angrily. “Let’s… go find the emperor of Roland and ask him to help you…”
“Okay.”
Adrian interrupted him. “Don’t say anything like this that violates the rules.”
He packed up his things and looked around the office where he had worked for over ten years. There was some reluctance to leave.
After he reported the situation, the top leaders of the Interstellar Alliance took it seriously and unanimously decided to send a more capable person to replace him.
He was indeed going to be demoted to deputy team leader. Then someone suggested that since he could lead the Roland Empire, there should be no problem with other nations.
After all, the other nations at the bottom of the rankings were just lagging behind and weren’t as dangerous as the Roland Empire.
Thus, he was transferred to another group as team leader. Not only was he not demoted, but his salary also increased.
But…
Adrian shook his head and prepared to leave with these things. He saw Yaheng’s angry expression and smiled. “Don’t be like this. We are working in the same place and we will meet often in the future.”
“How can this be the same?” Yaheng wasn’t comforted by him at all.
He even started to hesitate.
“Team Leader, how about I go with you?”
“What nonsense are you saying? The Roland Empire is about to usher in better development. Leaving now? Are you stupid?”
“But I just want to follow the team leader…”
Just as Adrian was racking his brains over how to persuade this person, his communicator rang.
Brent’s image appeared on the screen.
“Colonel Brent.”
Adrian greeted him before saying, “Lieutenant Colonel Adrian, I have a bit of trouble here and need your help to solve it.”
“What’s the trouble?”
“The emperor of the Roland Empire has refused to contact me.” Brent looked calm but there was obvious displeasure in his eyes.
“Why?”
“It is because of you. He said that he hopes you will continue to serve as the liaison officer between the Roland Empire and the Interstellar Alliance.”
Adrian was stunned. “His Majesty Roland… did he really say that?”
“Yes.”
Brent looked at him, feeling rather depressed. “Come over here and sort this matter out.”
Then he added, “Adrian, you know, this was all arranged by my superiors. I am just following instructions. I wasn’t targeting you.”
Of course, he was very interested in the Roland Empire, which had a promising future, but was unwilling to give up easily.
They were able to cultivate a supernova as powerful as the Guardian. Did Roland, a nation that had always been besieged by strange beasts, have more powerful masters?
According to records from a hundred years ago, before the natural disaster, the Roland Empire, no, it was the Escher Civilization, seemed to be highly valued by the Interstellar Alliance.
It was a pity that such a tragedy happened later and the alliance almost gave up on this nation.
Now, this mysterious ancient civilization had once again demonstrated its existence and power to the entire universe with a strong posture.
Brent believed that this nation had good potential for the future.
At least, this was what he thought until the Guardian superstar was poached by other nations.
It was only a matter of time before the Guardian was poached, but it was enough for him to operate in the meantime.
Adrian nodded.
He was somewhat touched, but he also knew that rules were rules. The Roland Empire had no reason to offend the Interstellar Alliance for him.
However, when he came to Brent’s office and met the emperor, he hadn’t expected the emperor to be so strong.
“I will only accept you as Roland’s liaison officer.”
The silver-haired young man said with a cold face. “Also, I assign you to take over all the affairs of the Roland Empire.”
“Other people can be your assistants. I have no objection to that.”
Brent looked very unhappy when he heard this.
Adrian had no choice but to say, “Your Majesty, this is a decision made by the Interstellar Alliance. This is against the rules…”
“Then forget it.”
Just when the two of them thought he had finally changed his mind, they heard the young man say, “The Roland Empire doesn’t want the rewards of the Genius Competition. You can distribute them to other teammates in the Free Alliance.”
“……”
“Your Majesty Roland, are you challenging the authority of the Interstellar Alliance?” Brent asked in a low voice.
The young man on the light curtain frowned deeply.
“If I remember correctly, according to the covenant, we have a cooperative relationship with the Interstellar Alliance and aren’t under the jurisdiction of the Interstellar Alliance.”
“If we don’t even have the right to appoint the liaison officer then this cooperation seems meaningless.”
Brent was speechless for a moment. He wanted to say something tough like, ‘Does Roland want to withdraw from the Interstellar Alliance?’
However, he knew that if the Roland Empire really withdrew from the alliance because of him, the punishment he would receive would be no less than the loss of his position as team leader.
It was because the Roland Empire had now attracted the attention of the entire universe. The Interstellar Alliance wouldn’t be able to accept such a result…
His expression changed again and again. Finally, he could only force a smile and say, “You’re joking.”
“I will convey your wishes to the higher-ups and definitely give you a satisfactory answer.”
Xu Sili looked at him and a smile appeared on his face. He nodded slightly and said, “That’s better.”
Adrian looked at the young man, feeling somewhat helpless but also more grateful.
It seemed that he hadn’t helped the wrong person before.
