SFR: Chapter 19

This wasn’t the first time Qi Changyi had met Xing Shi. He had met Xing Shi twice from a distance before.

But before meeting him, Qi Changyi had already heard of him.

A bad temper and very stubborn.

As a teenager, sometimes being too tough would lead to losses. However, Xing Shi wasn’t like that. He had a good brain and a lot of tricks. Director He had been careful for two years but achieved few results.

Qi Changyi never knew about these things.

He only found out about them when he went home one day and happened to hear his aunt talking to his mother in a worried manner about the father and son.

He had wondered how hard it would be to please a teenage brat. Therefore, he started to help Director He come up with ideas. He witnessed those ideas being shot down one by one. For the first time, he had a clear understanding of Xing Shi.

After that, he continued to hear about the other party while he was busy until they officially met today.

He knew that Xing Shi wasn’t easy to approach. He had imagined the scene of their first meeting.

For example, this child had a cold face and ignored him. For example, Xing Shi knew about his relationship with his aunt and had a mediocre reaction to him. For example, Xing Shi had heard his songs or seen his works and was willing to chat with him more.

He never thought that this child would calmly say, ‘Hello, cousin’ to him.

Qi Changyi looked at him. “Do you know my identity?”

Xing Shi said, “I found out by chance.”

Qi Changyi was somewhat curious about how long this kid had known about him, so he asked, “When?”

“I forgot.”

Qi Changyi changed the question. “Before entering the company or after?”

Xing Shi continued to give a short reply. “It is a secret.”

Qi Changyi’s beautiful peach blossom eyes curved. “Then…”

He didn’t finish the sentence.

It was because he took off his mask to win favor and was recognized.

There weren’t many people in the VIP passage for the time being, but it might not be the case after the news spread. Thus, they left here in a hurry.

Fu Xiuning had walked halfway when he heard Lin Kecheng’s voice.

“…Why is Ning here too!” Lin Kecheng exclaimed. “If he sees me, he will know that I have bad intentions, right?”

The system said, “Get out of the way and don’t let him…”

The voice disappeared but the meaning could be understood.

He didn’t have the interest to look up and glance over. He followed Director He into the parking lot.

Several assistants turned around to confirm that no one was following them and sighed with relief.

Director He looked at his son beside him and still felt like he was dreaming. He tried to talk to his son. “Are you adapting to the company?”

Xing Shi hummed.

Fu Xiuning said gently, “The teachers all praised him and said he was talented.”

Director He and the others looked at him at the same time.

Qi Changyi had already told them this person’s identity when they got off the plane.

He was the boss of June Culture and the only son of the Fu family. Unexpectedly, he had such an outstanding appearance and temperament.

Director He looked at Xing Shi first. Seeing that his expression didn’t change, he couldn’t help asking, “What else did they say?”

Fu Xiuning replied, “They also said that he trained very hard… By the way, did you see the hot search a few days ago?”

Director He immediately said, “I have seen it several times. He dances very well!”

Fu Xiuning said, “The idea of the dance was his.”

Xing Shi looked at him silently.

Fu Xiuning had a bad temper. The reason he brought Xing Shi here was probably to watch the show.

Then they came to a fork in the road.

Qi Changyi asked the company to arrange a business car in advance. It wasn’t parked in the same area as Fu Xiuning’s car.

Xing Shi came to Fu Xiuning’s side without hesitation. Director He and Changyi naturally chose this road, so the rest of the people took the business car.

Xing Shi sat in the passenger seat as usual.

He listened to Fu Xiuning chatting about his work at the company and school from time to time and looked at each other silently.

As they talked to Fu Xiuning, Director He and Qi Changyi looked at the figure in front of them and felt that the child was surprisingly calm today.

Qi Changyi handed over his mobile phone. “Can you give me a friend position?”

Xing Shi looked sideways and added him as a friend.

Qi Changyi looked at his WeChat account. The name was ‘It is Better to Eat than to Struggle’ and his profile picture seemed to be… roasted sweet potato?

He smiled and turned off his screen.

The two cars arrived at Linlan Garden one after another.

Not long after they entered, Lin Kecheng drove to the vicinity.

He and the system had thought of a strategy.

The first step was to accept Qi Changyi’s attention, leaving a good impression on him before leaving. The second time was to arouse the other party’s curiosity. Then he would continue fishing until he made formal contact the third time.

He looked at the Chinese garden not far away, full of confidence.

It was okay if Fu Xiuning was here. They must be eating in a private room. If Qi Changyi had something to do and left halfway then it would be his chance.

He took out his phone to call a few friends while asking, “How much is the per capita amount of this place?”

The system only checked Qi Changyi’s navigation and saw that the destination was a restaurant, not a private residence, so they had followed.

Now it retrieved the restaurant’s information in detail and gave a number.

Lin Kecheng felt pain when he heard it. However, since he was bound to the system, he had made a lot of extra money and could afford it.

The system suddenly said, “Wait, this is a membership-based restaurant.”

The private room was bigger than last time with a round table. He sat next to Fu Xiuning. Next to him was Qi Changyi and then Director He. The rest were three assistants and the male supporting actor of the movie.

The male supporting actor found the focus of the night very accurately. “Director He’s son is so handsome.”

Director He smiled. “Of course.”

He introduced the other person to his son.

Xing Shi listened to the introduction and called out, “Brother Zhang.”

The male supporting actor sighed and said, “I also saw the hot search. Have you officially debuted yet?”

Xing Shi replied, “I’m a trainee.”

Qi Changyi looked at him. “Do you have a favorite variety show? I’ll take you to play.”

Xing Shi told him, “I don’t watch variety shows very much.”

“Then I’ll pick a few good ones and you choose?”

Xing Shi refused. “I still have classes and training.”

Qi Changyi understood that he didn’t want to go and asked, “Are you interested in acting?”

Xing Shi said, “I’m still learning.”

Qi Changyi told him, “Learning in the crew is more practical. I’ll find you a few scripts and teach you personally?”

Director He tried to interrupt. “I have a lot here too. You can pick whatever you want.”

The male supporting actor was shocked, but the person in question just wanted to take it slowly. “Wait for me to learn for a while.”

It wasn’t the first time Director He was rejected, so he said, “Okay, I have scripts here anytime.”

Xing Shi chatted with them for a while before the food finally came.

He immediately became energetic. He picked up the chopsticks, concentrated in eating, and occasionally responded to them.

Director He ate while watching. He tentatively took a bit of food from his son, and took a deep breath when he saw his son eating.

He was certain that something was wrong with his son.

Some small movements and habits hadn’t changed. This was indeed his son. He hadn’t been replaced.

He looked clear-headed, his behavior was normal, he answered questions fluently, and he wasn’t possessed or cursed.

But he shouldn’t be like this.

This look made him feel… his son must’ve suffered without his knowledge.

He usually sent messages and his son didn’t like to pay attention to him. However, his parents had been in contact with Xing Shi and they didn’t notice that anything had happened to the other person. Besides, his son was never the one to suffer losses. It was always others who suffered.

Besides, it hadn’t been long since they last met. How did he become like this?

Director He frowned.

Qi Changyi was also observing Xing Shi and he was surprised.

The child’s reaction made him feel that the person he saw wasn’t the same person he had been hearing about for the past six months.

The system was nervous. “Don’t eat anymore. Your father and Qi Changyi are looking at you. They must be suspicious of you!”

Xing Shi swallowed the food in his mouth. Then he raised his head and met the eyes of the two people. “Is there something on my face?”

Director He reflexively shook his head.

Qi Changyi smiled and explained, “I have never seen someone eat so happily. I couldn’t help looking a bit more.”

Xing Shi told them, “Eat.”

Director He and Qi Changyi withdrew their gazes.

Xing Shi was satisfied.

He finished his meal with great enjoyment. Then he collapsed in his chair and didn’t want to move.

Fu Xiuning had figured out his habits and had been waiting for this moment. He turned to look at Xing Shi and asked, “Are you tired?”

“Not bad,” Xing Shi replied.

Fu Xiuning said with concern, “Go to bed early at night and sleep a bit longer in the morning. I heard that you have to wake up early every day.”

Director He was suddenly worried. He thought that something was wrong with his son and asked, “Insomnia?”

“No.”

Director He wondered, “Really? Didn’t you sleep until almost noon before?”

The system almost became jammed. Xing Shi looked calm and found an excuse. “Others have to get up early, so I got up too. I slowly developed a habit.”

Director He knew that the training of trainees was very hard and frowned again. “Don’t live in the dormitory. I’ll buy you a house near the company.”

Qi Changyi interrupted. “After the house is bought, it has to be renovated. You can live at my place first. The high-end community is quiet, and I’m not there usually.”

“Your place is a bit far away,” Fu Xiuning said gently. “Reporters often camp there, and it is easy to be photographed.”
