PFRG: Chapter 220

Dreamweaver (6)

”When do you think the captain will wake up?”

“Not sure. Let’s wait and see.”

“Oh, I should be able to sleep a bit longer before coming back.”

“It is already this late and you are still thinking about sleeping!”

……

The sounds came from far and near. There was the faint sound of footsteps coming and going.

In the exquisite and tidy room, Chi Ting’s closed eyes moved slightly. His fingers raised a bit, subconsciously trying to grab something. As soon as he moved, he realized that his palm seemed to be holding something.

He slowly opened his eyes. The first thing that caught his eye was that familiar face.

“Did you get enough sleep?” Lou Yueren asked with a smile.

Chi Ting looked down and realized that he had been holding Lou Yueren’s hand.

The previous outburst had indeed consumed too much of his energy. He fell into a deep sleep in Lou Yueren’s arms. He didn’t expect that he had been holding Lou Yueren until now and hadn’t let go.

“Yes,” Chi Ting replied and looked up. He found that the source of this conversation was the other people from Dawn. “When did they come here?”

“No 1 asked someone to bring them over,” Lou Yueren answered.

Ji Xingque was watching with concern while holding Chi Ting’s hand. Hearing this, he cleared his throat awkwardly and said, “In fact, even if no one comes… I can get out of the instance soon.”

Chi Ting looked over and said, “So what did you encounter in the instance?”

“Well… it was a bomb park where I could bomb as much as I wanted every day.” In order to save face, Ji Xingque chose to drag one more person into the water. “My situation is pretty good. Captain, if you ask Old Song, you will know what he was doing when people came over.”

Song Xuefeng lazily lifted his eyelids and answered the question directly, “Sleeping.”

Hua Qianmei watched the two of them bickering and sighed. “I had a whole castle full of male favorites waiting for me to favor them.”

“……”

Lu Nanling couldn’t bear to listen any longer, so he brought the topic back. “So, our world is really…”

The rest of the words weren’t spoken, but the surroundings instantly became quiet.

Chi Ting had already guessed that Lou Yueren must’ve told everyone else everything, so he nodded. “Yes.”

After a long period of dead silence, Ji Xingque took out his weapon on the spot. “Don’t stop me, I want to fight with these d*mn designers ahhhh—!”

Hua Qianmei reached out and slapped the pink head into the ground. “Stop making such a fuss, okay? Don’t you understand? Our original world was completely ruined. If you blow up this place again, where are we going to live?”

Faced with such a cruel reality, Ji Xingque struggled to pull his head out, his face still full of anger. “But…”

“Don’t mention it. We will know the specific arrangements after we finish talking about it.” Lu Nanling glanced at the door. “It seems they already know the captain is awake.”

Everyone looked in that direction and saw the girl in black standing at the door.

“Sure enough, No 1 always likes to let me do this type of thankless task.” No 3 sighed when she faced the hostile eyes. Her gaze swept over everyone and fell on Chi Ting. “Have you rested well, Captain Chi? My father asked me to take you there. He said he has something to discuss.”

Chi Ting stood up from the bed. “Lead the way.”

Just as he walked to the door, he could hear footsteps coming from behind him. Without turning around, Lou Yueren’s half-smiling voice was heard. “Take me with you. You don’t mind, do you?”

No 3 glanced over and said, “Of course, whatever you want.”

After coming out of the room, Chi Ting realized that he was in an independently built space.

Thinking back to the last words No 1 said before he fell asleep, it seemed that No 1 had indeed made a place to sleep specifically for him.

The fluorescent road stood out in the empty environment.

They could faintly see colorful optical fibers interweaving in the sky in all directions. They were obviously coming from the dreamweaver tree, densely packed together, trying to rebuild everything that had been destroyed in this Dreamweaver Land.

The three people walked along. No 3 was in front, Chi Ting was in the middle, and Lou Yueren followed behind with a leisurely pace.

No 3 had been silent all along the way, but perhaps she noticed Chi Ting’s observation. She suddenly explained, “No 1 hasn’t rested during the few days you were sleeping. The last wave of explosion was too strong, and the foundation of the Dreamweaver Land was almost shaken. If we don’t maintain it properly, it might cause the collapse of the entire world.”

Chi Ting retracted his gaze. “You sound a bit resentful. At that time, No 7 tried to use No 1 as a shield to perish together. Do you think I shouldn’t have taken such a risk at that time?”

No 3 replied, “No, Father already told me that you received his hints in advance. You made such a desperate move because you knew that Mr Lou would help my father avoid it.”

Chi Ting recalled the scene at that time and raised the corners of his mouth silently.

The moment he gathered all his strength to attack, No 7 tore through space and brought No 1 into the central nuclear explosion zone.

But if Lou Yueren’s shadow hadn’t pierced through No 7’s chest first and cut off his control over No 1, he probably wouldn’t have been the only one to be reduced to ashes.

It seemed like it was indeed a perfect tacit cooperation based on absolute trust.

After a short silence, he laughed half-heartedly. “To tell the truth, I was really mad at the time and didn’t think about whether No 1 would be affected or not. Your father was lucky, so you should thank Mr Lou for that.”

Such words caused the expression on No 3’s face to stiffen subtly. She looked at Chi Ting, and then at Lou Yueren, who was laughing so hard that he fell backward. Finally, she squeezed out a sentence. “You two are indeed a perfect match.”

Lou Yueren raised an eyebrow. “Hmm?”

No 3 answered, “You are both crazy.”

This comment touched Lou Yueren’s heart perfectly, and he naturally put his arm around Chi Ting’s shoulder and pulled Chi Ting into his arms. “Thank you for the compliment, or we wouldn’t have fallen in love with each other at first sight.”

‘I’m not praising you!’

No 3 pressed her lips together tightly. She quickened her pace and said nothing more.

Chi Ting looked at the angry figure with a smile in his eyes. “Come to think of it, you still remembered to bring my team members back despite such a busy schedule. Do you think you are deliberately showing goodwill by doing this?”

No 3 continued walking forward. There was a long pause before she spoke again without directly answering the question, “No 1 said that he feels guilty about you.”

It might sound like the answer was irrelevant, but Chi Ting knew what No 3 was referring to.

The color in his eyes flickered slightly, but he didn’t say anything else. He could feel Lou Yueren hugging him tighter without making a sound.

Not to mention, Mr Shadow’s body was quite warm.

They continued walking forward, and no one spoke along the way.

Chi Ting’s gaze was fixed on the road in front of him.

The scene when he first came to this unlimited world was still vivid in his mind. Then in the blink of an eye, it was about to come to an end.

By now, all the ins and outs had actually been clearly presented.

At first, these designers came together to this new world created by No 1, created rules together, and planned the future together.

They created the first world, built instances using fragments collected from other time and space, set specific card rules, invited selected players to enter the ultimate instance to experience the original intention of creating this world, and became new designers to maintain balance.

However, in the process of painstakingly building a world of rules, the temptation brought by absolute power was ignored.

No 7 used his own abilities to turn the creator of the world, No 1, into a puppet controlled by him. The world that was originally intended to provide a new life for all players was completely reduced to a hell of struggling for survival.

On the other hand, No 7 gradually realized that he was also being backfired during the manipulation process. He started to frequently travel between the worlds in order to maintain this so-called ‘balance’. He used these parallel worlds as his incubator, intending to cultivate the perfect ability that would allow him to continue to hold power before he was completely unable to support it.

This was until he once again brought the alienated virus into a new world, joined the Ark Laboratory as Dr Ling Wenguang, and used his own ‘death’ to guide Professor Jael to push this grand ‘alienation’ to the entire world.

Alien species were rampant, and the apocalyptic world had become a purgatory.

During the long struggle, countless awakened people with special abilities became the ultimate force in building humanity’s defense line.

This might not be the first time that No 7 had incubated the apocalypse, but this time, No 7 finally discovered the existence of Chi Ting among thousands of people with special abilities.

Spiritual Authority.

No 7’s ‘cultivation experience’ was successful.

Before he was crushed by the backlash of his own superpower, he finally found the perfect superpower he needed that could completely free him. He wanted to use this most perfect work of art to achieve complete control over the unlimited world.

Who would’ve thought that the collapse of a world was entirely due to the selfish desires of a lowly designer who called himself ‘god’?

This Dreamweaver Land was the root of all of this.

‘You didn’t kill me, but I died because of you.’

Chi Ting accepted what No 1 said about feeling guilty with a clear conscience.

Even if it wasn’t his original intention, he could at least not escape the charge of poor supervision. After all, during the entire process, the situation before him might’ve been completely different if his spiritual world had been a bit weaker.

Under the leadership of No 3, they finally passed through the last door.

Chi Ting looked up.

The figure was no longer sitting on the throne. It was replaced by a simple wheelchair. At a glance, after just a short period of time, No 1 obviously looked much more aged.

Having already guessed the man’s purpose in looking for him, Chi Ting stood still and didn’t move any closer.

There was a silent confrontation before No 1 was finally seen standing up with help.

His body was obviously very stiff, making it extremely difficult to take just a few steps.

However, Chi Ting had no intention of taking the initiative to step forward.

This was until No 1 finally arrived and stood in front of Chi Ting.

As their eyes met, he slowly extended his hand. Without any extra words, his tone was pious and direct. “Mr Chi, are you willing to become the god of the new world?”
