MGAG: Chapter 106 Part 2

Gu Shen sat in the cold compartment, his hands firmly chained to the chair as he stared at the glass wall in front of him.

The dark eyes were full of calculation, and the slightly long nails tapped against the table, making a short, stabbing sound.

“No one can be contacted.” The officer in charge of contacting him walked in. “Do you have anyone else to meet? The phone number you said is an empty number.”

Gu Shen was briefly stunned when he heard this. Then he said with a cold expression, “Impossible.”

“Why would I lie to you? The number you provided is an empty number. We have just verified it. This number has been canceled, and it is impossible to contact the person.” The police officer knew Gu Shen’s suspicions. With the permission of his superiors, he called the number in front of Gu Shen. He turned on the phone’s speaker and played a ruthless female voice. “I told you that I’m not lying to you. Is there anyone else you want to see?”

Outside the glass wall, the police captain was always paying attention to Gu Shen’s state, and he asked, “Have you checked the numbers and names he gave?”

“The numbers were all bought on the black market, and the ID cards behind some of the numbers have nothing to do with this matter. For those who were left behind by Gu Shen, two of them were caught in the ambush a while ago.” The policeman continued, “The strange thing is that these people have rarely shown their heads recently. It was like giving up on Gu Shen completely.

The captain looked at the glass wall and watched the criminal’s face gradually change from the initial calm to hesitance.

For the first time since Gu Zhengsong pushed the crimes on him, this person might only now be realizing that he was alone.

Gu Shen didn’t reply immediately. He hesitated cautiously for several minutes. Just when the officer thought he was going to give up, he said two more numbers. This type of rhetoric was a joke. Gu Shen had heard it several times. The previous few times, he considered it the joke of an ignorant person. Now this joke seemed to fall on him. Gu Zhengsong didn’t want to get him out. In order to protect himself, Gu Zhengsong pushed the crimes to him, attacked his forces, and wanted to kill him.

“Gu Shen?” The officer asked.

Gu Shen looked up at him, his icy tone filled with a bit of indifference. “There is a container warehouse in B City that is close to the port of the commercial district…”

The birthday party came to an end. While celebrating, Zhang Yazhi arranged for the other guests to leave. Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw a few people with serious expressions in the distance and didn’t go over to disturb them. She instead ordered the maid to put away the gifts given by the guests.

Chen Shiming received a message from the police and was communicating with them. “Okay, I will take time to go there tomorrow.”

After hanging up the phone, he told the others, “The prisoners didn’t disclose any information, but someone visited the prison two days before the accident. Then their family’s accounts recently received a large sum of money.”

Everything was just as Chen Qizhao said. Gu Zhengsong wanted to kill Gu Shen.

It fit perfectly with a certain speculation and made things go in a weird direction.

“Gu Shen seems to have loosened his mouth. The police didn’t say much. I will go over there tomorrow.” Chen Shiming finished talking about this matter and looked at the housekeeper on the side. “There were no problems with the security in the villa today, right?”

Shen Xuelan lowered her eyes. She tapped on her phone while her tone was relaxed. “I’m calling my brother, but it didn’t work. I’m not worried about him. I just saw that Yan Kaiqi was over there. Perhaps he left with Yan Kaiqi first.”

Zhang Yazhi came over and heard Shen Xuelan say this. Then she interrupted, “Yuhuai didn’t go with Kaiqi. The car that Kaiqi drove just now took Kailin and a few friends away. Yuhuai wasn’t with them.”

“I contacted the security guard, and they said they didn’t see Mr Shen leave. He should still be here.” The housekeeper ended the call. There were people watching from outside as tonight’s guests entered and left. If Shen Yuhuai left, the housekeeper would’ve received the news.

Shen Xuelan paused and called the phone number again, but no one answered.

Then she called the driver. The other person said that Shen Yuhuai hadn’t passed by there.

Special Assistant Xu added, “Mr Shen should’ve gone to rest…”

He wanted to say that perhaps Shen Yuhuai wasn’t there and had gone downstairs when he saw all the eyes around him look over.

Someone seemed to be coming out from the bathroom.

In the next second, the door in front of him slammed shut.
