LSLFBW: Chapter 104 Part 2

Qi Bai nodded. Once he turned around, he saw that the not very big wood flower field was now half bald.

Xiong Feng and Xiong Qi were moving quickly across the fields as if they were competing.

Xiong Feng’s idea was very simple. Since this was what Qi Bai wanted, it must be of great use. Of course, he would take as much as he could.

On the other hand, Xiong Qi was completely infected by Xiong Feng’s concentration and speed. He originally just came over to hide for a while, but then started working alongside Xiong Feng.

Qi Bai ran to Xiong Feng awkwardly and said, “That’s enough. We have to leave some for them.”

Xiong Qi waved his hand. “These wood flowers bloom here every year, but they are useless. Apart from Ming and Nuan, few people came here to collect them. It doesn’t matter how many you pick.”

Qi Bai smiled. “That’s enough. Thank you, Xiong Qi.”

Xiong Qi put the wood flower in his hand into Xiong Feng’s animal skin bag and quickly took two steps back. He still hadn’t forgotten Qi Bai’s resentful look just now, so he really didn’t dare to get too close.

Xiong Feng tied the mouth of the animal skin bag and quickly took two steps back. He still hadn’t forgotten Qi Bai’s resentful look just now, so he really didn’t dare to get too close to him.

The four of them walked together in the direction of the trading day, and only Qi Bai casually glanced behind him.

Between the snow-white wood flowers, Lu Ming climbed up Lu Yan’s neck with both hands and kissed him heavily. Lu Yan hugged Lu Ming’s waist lovingly and rubbed his forehead gently.

Qi Bai turned his head back and accidentally burped.

It wasn’t that Qi Bai had never seen a same-sex couple. There were Xiong Feng and Shu Lin from the Black Mountain Tribe, as well as Huan Ping and Yang Ling.

However, even though their children were born, there were no such intimate and direct actions between them in the tribe on a daily basis.

Qi Bai saw two boys kissing for the first time and seemed to hear the sound of his brain shattering like glass and then reassembling itself bit by bit.

Qi Bai and Xiong Feng were still a bit dazed as they returned to the camp.

The stall of the Black Mountain Tribe had been closed, and several tall beastmen were standing in front of Diao Lan.

Qi Bai got closer and realized that this was the beastman dragging a wild boar whom he met on the street corner in the morning. In just one afternoon, he brought back another wild boar. Qi Bai couldn’t help taking a few more looks.

Without saying much, the few of them took the salt that Diao Lan gave them and left without looking back.

Qi Bai muttered, “Did these people find a wild boar’s lair?”

Two more tents for the slaves to live in had been set up. In the open space between the five tents, 22 beastmen in better condition were chopping wood with stone knives or hammering stone to make stone pots.

Despite having herbs applied to their bodies, no one stopped what they were doing.

Diao Lan called a few people and asked them to drag the wild boar to the back.

“You told me to pick the ones who can lead from among them. These two can do it.” She pointed at two of them. “This is the sub-beastman Ruo and the beastman Liu.”

Qi Bai nodded and asked, “They didn’t make any small moves, did they?”

“They were provided with food, drink, and medical treatment. They will never be able to find such a good tribe again.”

Qi Bai couldn’t help thinking of the scene when they just arrived at the Black Mountain. He smiled at Diao Lan and said, “If there are really people who want to escape, let them go. We don’t have to stop them. Just keep an eye on the tents containing supplies and don’t let them in.”

Just as Qi Bai thought at the beginning, being able to become a member of the tribe was a choice made by everyone. If they were unwilling to join the Black Mountain Tribe, or had a home in their hearts like the Silver Moon Tribe, there was no need for them to force these poor people.

Diao Lan chuckled. “I know.”

Hu Qiao passed by the main tent and ran over when he saw Qi Bai. Qi Bai had been so busy this afternoon that he was nowhere to be seen. Finally, he had a chance to speak. “Bao Bai, we have brought back the beans you asked us to exchange. They are now in the main tent.”

“Okay, there is no rush for that.” Qi Bai asked, “Is there any free stone pot now? I want to cook something.”

The clay pots and carts they brought from the tribe were buried on the mountain. Now everyone could only use makeshift stone pots.

Hu Qiao thought for a moment. “There is only a very small stone basin left.”

Qi Bai said, “That’s enough for me. I’ll follow you to get it.”

Hu Qiao shook his head and smiled. “You are the master of these slaves now. How can I let you do the work yourself? Go back to the tent and wait. I will ask Xi Zhou to move it for you.”

Qi Bai looked at Hu Qiao’s heartless back and thought to himself, ‘You can show off all you want. Once we leave the trading day, you will be finished with Xi Zhou deals with you.’

Qi Bai entered the main tent, opened the animal skin bag that Xiong Feng brought back, took out a wood flower from it and tore off the wood flower fluff bit by bit.

It was said that cotton-picking was a hard job. Qi Bai had now experienced it.

The wood flower seeds were embedded in the wood flower fluff. It took a lot of effort to completely peel them off.

The animal skin of the tent was lifted. Xi Zhou and Hu Qiao walked in with a stone basin and a pile of firewood.

The two men rolled up the animal skins they had used for sleeping, built a fire on the ground, and placed the stone basin on it.

Xi Zhou asked, “Bao Bai, what are you going to do?”

Qi Bai answered, “These wood fluff can be used to stop bleeding from wounds. The effect is much better than animal skins. I will prepare some and replace them for the injured later tomorrow.”

Qi Bai stood up, filled the stone basin with water, and took out a small piece of brown sugar. “Put this brown sugar in the pot and boil it into water. Let everyone drink some.”

Hu Qiao was a bit reluctant. “Such precious brown sugar is just given to them to drink.”

Qi Bai told him, “It is just a bit of brown sugar. The sooner they get better, the quicker we can leave for the tribe. Otherwise, all of you will have to pull the carts. Which one is more cost-effective?”

Hu Qiao muttered, “Then let me pull it and give me all the brown sugar.”

Qi Bai glared at Hu Qiao. “Why are you so stingy? Hurry up and leave. I’m busy here.”

Hu Qiao and Xi Zhou took out a small piece of brown sugar and ran out of the tent with a smile.

The main tent was particularly empty tonight. It lacked the hustle and bustle of yesterday when everyone slept together on the big bunk bed. It wasn’t until very late at night that Niu Xi and Quan Nan walked in.

Seeing that Qi Bai was still busy under the firelight, the two people had no intention of taking a break. They casually pulled out an animal skin, sat next to Qi Bai, and started to pull the wood flower fluff like Qi Bai did.

Niu Xi yawned and said, “Lang Ze told us that the beastmen will stay at the tent in the back, keeping turns to keep watch today. The five of us shouldn’t wait for them and should just go to sleep.”

Qi Bai took out the wood flower fluff that had been boiled several times from the pot, wrung it dry, and placed it on a clean animal skin to dry. Turning around, he saw Quan Nan nodding off and almost falling into the stone basin.

Qi Bai helped Quan Nan up and spread out the animal skins piled in the corner. He snatched the wood flowers from the two people and said softly, “Stop it, let’s go to sleep.”

Quan Nan rubbed her eyes. “Where are you going?”

Qi Bai replied, “I’ll go take a look at the back. I will return soon.”

“Oh…”

The moment Quan Nan finished speaking, Qi Bai heard the two people snoring one after another.

Qi Bai smiled silently. More than 60 people came today, and most of them were injured. The people of the Black Mountain Tribe had to cook for them and prepare the tent and herbs. There was no time to rest, so everyone was exhausted.

Two bright moons hung high in the night sky. The camp was no longer bustling with people as it was during the day. Only insects hiding somewhere were left, tirelessly repeating the variations of the summer night.

Qi Bai looked around and found that everyone was sleeping in the tent, but there was no sign of Lang Ze among them.

Qi Bai nodded to Huan Ping and Tun Quan, who were sitting in the middle of the tent to keep watch. Then he headed toward the back of the camp. Finally, behind the big tree where the Black Mountain Tribe and the War Bear Tribe had met, he saw Lang Ze staring up at the sky.

There was a gentle breeze. The short black hair beside Lang Ze’s ear was blown gently. He heard footsteps and tilted his head slightly.

“Ji.”

Lang Ji walked out of the darkness. “The people of the Black Mountain Tribe aren’t vigilant.”

Lang Ze didn’t comment on it. “You have something to say.”

Lang Ze had already noticed Lang Ji’s abnormality during the day. But Lang Ji didn’t want to say it, and Lang Ze wouldn’t force him.

Lang Ji nodded. This time, he didn’t hesitate and told all the information he knew.

After Lang Ji left, Qi Bai walked out from behind the big tree.

Lang Ze stared silently in the direction where Lang Ji left.

Qi Bai told him, “Absolutely not.”

Lang Ze looked at Qi Bai with a smile in his eyes. “I didn’t say anything.”

Qi Bai said forcefully, “You can’t even think about it.”

Lang Ze raised a hand to his nose and smiled.

Qi Bai patted Lang Ze’s arm. “I’m talking to you seriously!”

“This could put you in danger>”

“Danger is something we have to face together,” Qi Bai said. “I don’t care. Just don’t think about abandoning me.”
