Hi everyone, welcome to the new novel I am picking up! This is a classic beastmen novel about developing the tribe, but it was still enjoyable to read, and I’ve been into ancient/primitive world/infrastructure novels lately.
Some warnings: There is slavery in this world, and the ML is a slave at the beginning of the novel. However, ML’s slave status will be resolved pretty early on in the novel.
In the midst of the noisy rain, the chaotic footsteps, the wailing of animals, and the chaos, Qi Bai struggled to open his eyes.
Where was this place?
The short conversations of the medical staff in the emergency room seemed to still ring in his ears, but he had already arrived in a strange place.
Rain poured on the muddy land, and the turbid water splashed and blocked Qi Bai’s sight.
He struggled to stand up but couldn’t move. It was as if something huge was pressing on him.
Severe pain swept over him. He couldn’t help letting out a whimper.
A light gray figure flashed past like a sharp blade. Then the figure stopped as if noticing something.
Qi Bai raised his head and met a pair of deep wolf eyes.
It was a light gray giant wolf with a single horn.
Even though he looked a bit embarrassed at the moment, Qi Bai was still shocked by his figure.
The giant wolf lowered his head and sniffed Qi Bai.
Qi Bai looked at the giant beast in front of him in a daze. He even forgot the pain for a moment.
Was this giant wolf going to eat him?
In the next second, the giant wolf slapped the thing pressing on Qi Bai with his claws. Qi Bai finally realized that he was pressed under a tree that had been uprooted.
The giant wolf growled at him before biting the back of Qi Bai’s neck. He turned around and quickly rushed forward.
Qi Bai’s mind was still confused. He opened his mouth, not knowing if he should scream in response to the situation. However, he was surprised to hear a weak and delicate meow coming out of his mouth.
What… what… what was that call?
The giant wolf was very fast, but his panting was very heavy. It was as if he was already at the end of his strength.
There were many more animals like him who were holding on. It wasn’t known what was chasing behind them but all the animals were running desperately in the rain.
The two front legs of a goat were deeply stuck in the mud, while a fox with a single horn screamed and refused to leave the goat. It was only a few seconds of delay, but the mudslide behind them caught up and instantly submerged them.
A mudslide!
Qi Bai held his breath. He didn’t even have time to mourn the complicated friendship between predator and prey. It was because the fact that he could see the mudslide was enough to show that he was also in danger.
A huge wheezing sound came from the depths of the giant wolf’s throat like broken bellows. Every breath was extremely heavy, and the giant wolf’s speed was getting slower and slower.
He ran continuously without food and couldn’t last too long, not to mention that he was holding Qi Bai in his mouth. At this moment, even a little bit more weight would be fatal to the giant wolf.
Qi Bai also discovered this. The giant wolf’s running seemed to be just a belief in moving forward. He didn’t even have the awareness to avoid some low obstacles.
Suddenly, the giant’s front legs weakened. The wolf fell heavily due to inertia.
Qi Bai’s eyes were dim. He finally managed to get up and saw that the giant wolf was motionless. In addition, the mudslide behind him was already close at hand.
“Run!’ Qi Bai shouted while running towards the giant wolf.
They were very close to the gentle slope ahead. They just had to run for a few more minutes or seconds and they would survive!
But his body was too small, and he had no way to drag the giant wolf’s body. What should he do?
At this moment, Qi Bai was shocked to find that the surrounding environment was gradually getting shorter, and his body length was gradually elongating.
The change was complete before he reached the giant wolf. His short forelimbs turned into slender arms, and his curled hind legs turned into slender legs.
Qi Bai hugged the giant wolf’s body tightly. The giant wolf under his hands was surprisingly thin.
A shallow dragging mark appeared on the ground. Qi Bai used all his strength to pull the giant wolf to the gentle slope in front of him to the left. “Hold on, hold on a bit longer. We will be saved when we reach the gentle slope ahead!”
Perhaps due to Qi Bai’s voice, the giant wolf in his arms woke up from the brief unconscious state. He struggled out of Qi Bai’s arms.
Qi Bai quickly let go and let the wolf stand up by himself. It wasn’t that Qi Bai didn’t want to help, but his own condition wasn’t good. It wasn’t known if it was due to tension or exhaustion, but his whole body was shaking uncontrollably.
All of this happened in just a few breaths. The giant wolf quickly resumed his movements. Qi Bai saw that the mudslide was about to wash over them, so he ran forward vigorously and guided the giant wolf to move up the gentle slope.
However, he still overestimated the physical strength of his body. As he was climbing up the gentle slope with his hands and feet, a huge impact hit his waist. In a hurry, he only had time to grab the weeds on the ground.
‘It is over,’ Qi Bai thought. He was going to die here. He didn’t have the strength to climb up.
His hands were tightly gripping the ground, but the soil under his palms was very muddy. Due to the rain washing over him, he couldn’t hold on for long.
At this moment, a pale hand tightly grasped his arm. Qi Bai’s eyes widened. He looked up and saw a boy around 18 or 19 years old. The boy gritted his teeth and said, “Use force, climb up slowly…”
The unfamiliar boy rekindled Qi Bai’s hope.
Qi Bai held the boy’s arm in return, not daring to use too much force out of fear of pulling the boy down.
He dug his feet firmly into the ground. Then with the help of the mid, he moved towards the top little by little.
By the time Qi Bai finally reached the top, both of them were exhausted. They staggered forward a few steps. Once they could no longer hold on, both of them fell to the ground.
Qi Bai stared up at the sky above his head. Tears couldn’t stop flowing from his eyes. It mixed with the rain and sank into the ground.
It wasn’t that Qi Bai was fragile, but running freely like this seemed like a few lifetimes ago.
Ever since he became sick, he couldn’t remember how long it had been since he walked out of the hospital or left the hospital room.
It didn’t seem bad to leave that world like this. He didn’t have to experience the torture of his disease any longer, and his family didn’t have to suffer with him.
He just hadn’t expected that such an incredible thing like traveling to another world would happen to him. Could it be that he was so obsessed when he died that even God couldn’t bear it?
It was a pity that he had such an experience, but no way to tell his family. He hoped that his parents and younger brother in another world could let go of the grief of his death as soon as possible and start a new life.
Qi Bai blinked and wiped away the tears. Now wasn’t the time to be thankful or sad. People who had lost once, in other words, those who had experienced illness, knew how to cherish life. He wouldn’t give up. He must survive more strongly!

Inside a cave.
A group of beastmen snuggled together to keep each other warm.
They had been fleeing north for over ten days in a row. The number of people had been decreasing and increasing during the escape. At this moment, there were only approximately 50 people left in the cave.
This was the first time they had found a spacious cave that could accommodate everyone, but they were all still lifeless.
No one communicated with the strange companions around them because none of them knew whether they could see the same person tomorrow.
Thanks to the memory of the original owner of the body, Qi Bai knew that he had traveled to a place called the Beastman Continent.
He was now a beastman with a beast form, or to be more precious, a sub-beastman.
On the Beastman Continent, the gender of beastmen weren’t divided by male and female, but by horned beastmen and sub-beastmen.
Horned beastmen had a single horn on their heads, were huge in form and good at fighting. The boy who saved him before was a wolf-shaped horned beastman.
Sub-beastmen didn’t have a single horn, their form was very small and not suitable for hunting, and both men and women had the ability to give birth to babies.
The continuous heavy rain caused a major flood in the land where the original owner lived. He became lost while migrating with the tribe in the heavy rain. Fortunately, he met a group of people who were also alone during the escape.
The heavy rain outside the cave showed no signs of stopping. This emphasized the silence inside the cave.
Qi Bai listened to the sound of rain hitting the mountains and forest, and silently curled up his body.
He hadn’t completely become used to his beast form, so he was used to maintaining his human form except when running.
At this moment, his short white hair was tightly attached to his forehead, and his round eyes looked out of the cave in a daze.
Qi Bai imitated the beastmen around him and ate some wild vegetables. He didn’t know what the wild vegetables were. He only dared to eat them after others had eaten them. He had been doing this to fill his stomach over the past few days.
These wild vegetables couldn’t fill his stomach, and Qi Bai was still hungry. However, he had no intention of going out to find food.
Everyone was like this. Instead of going out to look for prey that might not be there, it was better to take advantage of this time to have a good sleep in the hard-won cave.
It was only by accumulating enough physical strength that they could have the strength to continue running tomorrow. Everyone knew that it was difficult for a lone beastman to survive in the wild. It was only by keeping close to this temporary team that they would have a chance to survive.
As for hunger, it was already the norm these days. No one dared to stop to eat, even if they had already left the mudslide far behind.
Just as Qi Bai was enduring another round of his stomach rumbling, two figures suddenly stood up in the quiet crowd.
Qi Bai knew them. They were the elders in the team. There was the horned beastman, Hou (Monkey) Yan, and the sub-beastman, Yang (Sheep) Luo.
If they hadn’t pointed out the direction for the group and taught everyone how to survive during the days of escape, more people probably would’ve died.
Yang Luo covered his face with his hands before placing them in front of his chest. He said very piously, “The Beast God sent down heavy rain to punish his greedy people, but the Beast God was also kind. He guided us to this cave and left us a glimmer of hope. The north is the end of the world and the habitat of the Beast God. We can’t continue to move forward, so as to not disturb the Beast God’s sleep. We have been blessed by the Beast God. It is time to stop our ignorant steps.”
Then he folded the hands that had been hanging in front of his chest and chanted softly, “Blessings from the Beast God.”
Yang Luo’s voice had a unique rhythm. It was long and mysterious.
Qi Bai couldn’t help listening carefully.
At this time, everyone had returned to human form. People couldn’t understand what Yang Luo said, but they knew that they didn’t have to run away any longer. Everyone’s faces showed joy. They followed Yang Luo’s actions, folded their hands, and said in unison, “Blessings from the Beast God.”
Qi Bai didn’t know if there were gods in this world, but at this moment, he also prayed in his heart with great sincerity. He was thankful for his new life.
Once everyone finished chanting, they all looked at the two leaders in unison.
Yang Luo waited for everyone to calm down before continuing, “The fire of wisdom will take root and sprout in every land that the beastmen have stepped on. Even in the face of more suffering, us beastmen will never retreat. From now on, we will live here. Beastmen, prepare to start our new journey.”
“That’s right!”
“A new journey!”
The group agreed one after another.
At this time, Hou Yan stood up. His simple and honest appearance was naturally persuasive. “All sub-beastmen and children should gather here with Yang Luo to form a gathering team. All adult horned beastmen should gather at my place to form a hunting team. Since the Beast God has guided us here to stay, as people of the Beast God, we can always rely on ourselves to survive.”

ah! I love beastmen worlds.
thanks for the hard work! <3
I don’t like these ideas where men can get pregnant, because it’s the same as a hetero romance, after all in their society it’s something normal and this ends up not adding anything to the story, unless the protagonists were of the same gender and class, like two male “alphas”, that would be interesting, unfortunately there aren’t many novels of this type and 99% are like that, sad, the plot is interesting but it always ends the same, “sensitive and weak omega”, “strong and hunting alpha”.
