FV: Chapter 87 Part 2
The transfer was quickly handled. Ji Yuxiao personally sent Lin Fei and Ji Leyu to the new school.
He handed the two children to the head teacher and hoped she would take care of them well.
The head teacher took these two hot potatoes with a gentle face, but she was worried about the learning ability and character of these two children.
All parents who transferred schools said their children learned well and had a good personality. However, there were very few who actually were like this, especially when it was two children at once!
She took Lin Fei and Ji Leyu to the classroom, introduced them to their classmates and helped arrange their seats.
At the end of the class, the teacher called the class monitor to the office and asked him to take care of the new students and see if there was anything they needed help with.
The class monitor was a little boy with slightly dark skin. He was very enthusiastic. After he left the office, he came to the desk of Ji Leyu and Lin Fei according to the teacher’s words.
Ji Leyu had gone to the toilet and there was only Lin Fei sitting there.
Seeing his cold face, the class monitor subconsciously lowered his tone. “My name is Jiang Ting and I am the class monitor. If you don’t understand anything or need my help, you can talk to me.”
Lin Fei showed no expression and just said, “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” Jiang Ting looked at him with a smile. He saw that Lin Fei was a transfer student and was afraid that the learning progress would be different. Therefore, he sat on Ji Leyu’s seat and asked in a low voice, “Where did you learn up to before?”
Lin Fei, “……”
Lin Fei silently opened the book and pointed to what he had learned before.
Jiang Ting took a closer look. Lin Fei instinctively moved to the side to avoid him, cold and indifferent.
Ji Leyu returned to the classroom after going to the toilet and saw this scene.
He blinked in shock. What was going on?
Why did he go to the toilet and return to find someone sitting in his seat?
Why did it look like he wanted to talk to Lin Fei?
Did he want to make friends with Lin Fei?
How could that work?
He already had a friend!
He was Lin Fei’s best, most important and only friend and they couldn’t be separated!
No more friends were needed!
He snorted and walked over angrily.
“This is my seat.” Ji Leyu walked to Jiang Ting’s side and his voice was heavy.
Jiang Ting stood up quickly and explained to him, “I just sat down because you weren’t here just now.”
“I’m here now.”
Jiang Ting saw his raised chin and that he seemed to be a bit fierce. Therefore, he silently returned the seat to him and walked over to Lin Fei’s desk.
Ji Leyu stared at him. “You aren’t leaving yet?”
Jiang Ting, “……”
“I want to see what you have learned up to,” he said in a good-natured manner.
Ji Leyu was about to refuse but he felt his face being pinched.
Ji Leyu, “???”
He looked down and it turned out to be Lin Fei.
“Sit down,” Lin Fei told him.
Ji Leyu reluctantly sat down on his chair and Lin Fei touched his head. “You are good.”
Ji Leyu was coaxed and felt happy. Then he looked at Jiang Ting with a proud face. ‘Did you see it? We are good friends. He likes me the most!’
He was feeling proud when he saw Lin Fei turn his head to Jiang Ting. “Where have you learned up to?”
Ji Leyu, “???”
Why was Lin Fei still talking to him?
Wasn’t Lin Fei usually not talkative?!
Ji Leyu was upset again. He was about to rush over to the person but he felt a weight on his head. Lin Fei patted his head again.
Ji Leyu, “……”
‘Okay, it is just one sentence. Ask where he learned up to. Let him answer first and then drive him away.’
Jiang Ting looked down at Lin Fei’s book and pointed it out to him. “Here. It is a bit more than you but not too much.”
Lin Fei understood. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” Jiang Ting smiled.
He pointed out their learning progress to Lin Fei one by one and said kindly, “If you don’t understand anything, you can come to me.”
Ji Leyu thought, ‘…Why aren’t you leaving?’
Lin Fei said, “Thank you.”
‘You actually answered him again!’
“Then I’m going first.”
‘Uhuh. Go first.’
Jiang Ting finished helping the new students according to the teacher’s words. He was ready to leave but before leaving, he looked at Ji Leyu who was lying on the table and staring intently at them.
Ji Leyu didn’t speak and frowned. Why wasn’t this person leaving yet? Didn’t he just say he was leaving? What was he doing here?
“You too. Come to me if you don’t understand anything,” Jiang Ting spoke softly. He didn’t quite understand why this new classmate looked small and beautiful, yet fierce, just like the kitten raised at home. He was obviously very cute but could raise his little paws at any time.
However, Jiang Ting felt that he was the class monitor and naturally had to help take care of the new classmate. Even if this classmate was fierce, he couldn’t give up. Therefore, he stretched out a friendly hand to the indifferent Ji Leyu.
Ji Leyu let out an ‘oh’, which could be regarded as an answer. However, his heart was urging him to hurry up and leave.
Once Jiang Ting left, Ji Leyu instantly sat up straight. He left the table he was lying on and stared at Lin Fei before starting to question him. “Why did you talk to him so much? I just left and went to the toilet. Then I found that you had made a new friend? No way!”
Lin Fei thought, ‘…When was I about to make a new friend?’
He didn’t even have an old friend, okay?
“Then why are you still talking to him?!”
“I want to know where they learned up to.”
“Then you know now. You don’t have to talk to him in the future.”
Lin Fei, “……”
Ji Leyu pouted. “Don’t let people sit in my seat in the future. This is mine.”
“In addition, don’t let anyone else sit in your seat. It is yours.”
“You aren’t allowed to talk to them, make friends with them or to secretly play with others while I am away.”
‘…Why are you disallowing so many things? You really have the courage of your own convictions.’
“Did you hear me?” Ji Leyu shook his arm.
“Let’s read.” Lin Fei glanced at him.
“You haven’t promised me yet.” Ji Leyu urged him. “You promise me first.”
“You are good.” Lin Fei patted his head.
Ji Leyu immediately added, “You also aren’t allowed to call them good.”
Lin Fei, “……”
Lin Fei rubbed his head several times. Very good. New shortcomings had been added. How many shortcomings did he have? How could people have so many shortcomings?
Lin Fei felt that this was a rare child.
In the evening, Lin Fei picked a time after he finished Lin Luoqing to send a testing emoji on WeChat.
He usually sent an emoji first before sending a video call invitation. If Lin Luoqing responded quickly, it meant he wasn’t busy and Lin Fei would make the invitation. If Lin Luoqing replied late then it meant he was very busy and Lin Fei wouldn’t disturb him.
Soon, Lin Luoqing sent a hugging emoji back. Lin Fei saw it and guessed that the other person wasn’t very busy. He was about to send a video call invitation to Lin Luoqing when he heard his phone ringing. Lin Luoqing was one step ahead of him and did it first.
Lin Fei immediately picked up, sat at the desk and stared at him.
“Have you finished your meal?” Lin Luoqing asked him.
Lin Fei nodded. “Have you eaten?”
Lin Luoqing showed him the boxed meal on the table. “I’m just about to eat it. How was today? How do you feel about your first day at a new school? Did your teacher or classmates bully you? Do you find the content of the class difficult? Is there anything you can’t do?”
Lin Fei shook his head and answered him one by one. “I wasn’t bullied, it wasn’t difficult and there was nothing I couldn’t do.”
“Then how do you feel?”
“The same,” Lin Fei said casually. “Aren’t all schools similar?”
Lin Luoqing, “……”
Yes, in Lin Fei’s eyes, schools were just places to study in class. It was indeed similar.
“So would you like to study at this new school? Or do you want to change to another school?”
“It can be this school,” Lin Fei answered. In any case, he listened to lectures and read books. It was the same everywhere.
“That’s good.” Lin Luoqing saw that he was willing and felt relieved. “Then stay in this school first. If you feel that the teachers or learning atmosphere aren’t good later, tell me again and we will change classes or schools.”
“What about Xiao Yu?” Lin Luoqing asked him. “Has Xiao Yu adapted?”
Lin Fei nodded.
He remembered something and asked Lin Luoqing, “You said before that a fish swims in water, the jiao is in the deep abyss and dragons fly in the sky. What is Xiao Yu? Is he a fish?”
Lin Luoqing smiled. “He can also become a dragon, but if Xiao Yu wants to become a dragon, the carp has to jump over the dragon’s gate. So you have to help him.”
“How can I help?” Lin Fei didn’t quite understand it.
“Just watch him, control him and make sure he is well-behaved. As long as he is always well-behaved, he can also become a dragon.”
Lin Fei thought about it and felt that it was true. Ji Leyu had too many shortcomings and someone really needed to watch him.
“Okay.” He agreed.
Lin Luoqing saw him agreeing so simply and was afraid he would wrong Lin Fei, so he hurriedly said, “It is best if you are willing to do so. This way, the two of you will have a companion. But even if you are willing to help him, you can’t wrong yourself. If you think he makes you unhappy or he does something too excessive, you don’t need to endure it. Come and tell me. After all, you are a child yourself. It is more important that you are happy.”
Lin Fei obediently agreed before speaking for Ji Leyu. “He is quite well-behaved.”
“Yes.” Lin Fei nodded.
“That’s good.” Lin Luoqing smiled. “Then help me look after him a bit more. Oh, help me keep an eye on his studies as well. Your uncle is always worried that he can’t keep up with the first grade coursework. Please teach him. Otherwise, if he really takes last place in the final exam, your uncle will be depressed.”
“Okay, “ Lin Fei replied.
“You are so good.” Lin Luoqing looked at him with eyes full of adoration. “Why are you so well-behaved? You are also powerful! Uncle is simply too proud. I must’ve done something good in my last life to have such a good and kind little nephew like you!”
Lin Fei, “……”
Lin Fei’s ears were a bit hot again.
He had never been good at responding when Lin Luoqing was like this. He hurriedly said, “I’m going to do my homework.”
“Let your uncle give you a kiss~” Lin Luoqing said. He learned from the last time and kissed his finger, pressing it to Lin Fei’s cheek on the screen.
Before Lin Fei could feel shy, he heard Lin Luoqing say to him, “You should kiss your uncle as well.”
Lin Fei was forced to follow him and pressed the kissed finger to the position of Lin Luoqing’s cheek on the screen.
Once he finished pressing, he withdrew his hand and looked at Lin Luoqing’s smile on the screen. He missed Lin Luoqing and felt a bit embarrassed.
“When are you coming back?” He asked softly.
Lin Luoqing smiled with curved eyes. “Did you miss me?”
“No.” Lin Fei denied it without admitting how he truly felt.
Lin Luoqing instantly put on a sad expression. “You don’t even miss me. Then what am I going back for?”
Lin Fei, “……”
“Uncle missed you,” he remedied it.
“Then I’ll see your uncle another day.”
Lin Fei, “……”
“Xiao Yu missed you too.”
“Then I’ll video call him another day.”
Lin Fei, “……”
Lin Luoqing looked at him. “Does anyone else miss me?”
“Aunt Zhang missed you,” Lin Fei said quickly.
“Then I’ll call her later.”
Lin Fei, “……”
Lin Luoqing deliberately said, “Now it is good. We can meet or contact each other like this. There is no need to go back.”
Lin Fei, “……”
Lin Fei pursed his lips, seemingly dissatisfied.
Lin Luoqing saw his awkward appearance and liked it. Therefore, he didn’t tease Lin Fei any longer. “Forget it. I had better go back. Who made me miss you? You might not miss me but I think about you every day. Alas, pity me for missing you so much while you don’t miss me.”
Lin Fei, “……”
Lin Fei regretted that he hadn’t said he missed Lin Luoqing before. He obviously missed Lin Luoqing a lot.
He lowered his head silently and suddenly saw an emoji in WeChat. Something flashed in Lin Fei’s mind. Then he reached out and scrolled through Lin Luoqing’s emojis, finding the emoji he wanted.
“I’m hanging up.” Lin Fei looked at Lin Luoqing. “Bye bye.”
“You are hanging up so soon.” Lin Luoqing was surprised but he always followed Lin Fei’s words. Thus, he didn’t embarrass the child. “Then I’ll chat with you tomorrow. Go to bed early.”
“Yes.” Lin Fei finished speaking and hung up the video call.
Then he sent the emoji he liked.
The moment Lin Luoqing hung up the video, an emoji quickly popped up on the screen. It was a dumbfounded little tiger holding a pillow with two words above its head: Miss you.
Lin Luoqing couldn’t help laughing. He was wondering why Lin Fei suddenly hung up in a hurry. It turned out to be like this. It was really cute.
Lin Luoqing quickly sent a kissing emoji and typed: [Uncle misses you too.]
[I miss you very, very, very much.]
Lin Fei saw his reply and quietly smiled.
Then he saw Lin Luoqing send a voice message. He stretched out his hand, pressed carefully and heard Lin Luoqing’s gentle voice: [Good night, my little baby.]
‘Good night,’ Lin Fei thought.
