FV: Chapter 39 Part 2

Lin Fei didn’t speak again. He didn’t ask Ji Leyu to leave and didn’t say anything else.

Ji Leyu looked at him. He was still expressionless and stared at his own book intently.

Ji Leyu felt that he couldn’t really understand Lin Fei.

This person was obviously still arguing with him just now and telling him that it was wrong to push people into the water. He said that if everything went as Ji Leyu planned then he wouldn’t have even appeared.

Now Lin Fei lowered his head to read again as if the previous quarrel didn’t exist.

What type of person was he?

Ji Leyu was too confused.

He stood by Lin Fei’s desk and watched this person quietly.

After a while, he was tired from standing. Therefore, he simply sat on Lin Fei’s bed and continued to stare at him.

Lin Fei didn’t say anything but when he got up to get water, he asked, “Do you want to drink water?”

Ji Leyu, “……”

Ji Leyu felt even more confused!

He thought that Lin Fei would be frightened, disgusted or fearful after seeing him push someone but Lin Fei didn’t react this way.

He thought that after he insisted that Ji Xin wouldn’t die, that he just wanted to scare Ji Xin and didn’t want him to die, Lin Fei would be disgusted with him, too lazy to deal with him and drive him out.

Yet Lin Fei didn’t do this.

He even asked ‘Do you want to drink water?’ Ji Leyu felt like he was no different from before.

Lin Fei was still lukewarm, indifferent and ignored others, but didn’t completely ignore them.

“I will drink,” Ji Leyu held his chin and said.

Lin Fei didn’t have Ji Leyu’s cup here so he brought over a bottle of water.

Ji Leyu twisted it twice and deliberately said, “I can’t unscrew it.”

He handed the water bottle out. Lin Fei took it, helped unscrew the cap and returned it to him.

Ji Leyu, “……”

So what was this?

Weren’t you just teaching me, taunting me?

Why does it seem like nothing happened at this time?

What is the matter with you?

Ji Leyu thought that his cheap brother was really complicated. How could there be such a difficult child that was so hard to understand? It was too strange!

Lin Luoqing followed Ji Yuxiao back to the room. He closed the door and whispered to him, “Don’t be angry anymore.”

He had never seen Ji Yuxiao so angry before. Ji Yuxiao only had a bit of disgust in his eyes, no anger, when he just crossed over and the original owner had said so many sarcastic things about Ji Yuxiao.

However, today Ji Yuxiao was really angry.

It was with his relatives.

Lin Luoqing wanted to comfort him but didn’t know what to say.

His relatives had their own thoughts. They stood against him, knowing he was injured but not caring about inserting a knife in his heart.

“What type of performance do you want to watch today?” Lin Luoqing walked up to him and said in a flattering manner. “You can list whatever you want. I have time today and I can do anything.”

Ji Yuxiao listened to his words and smiled while feeling a bit of irony in his heart.

“I’m fine,” he said softly. “I am the one who let you see a joke.”

“It’s fine.” Lin Luoqing also laughed. “Once you meet my family one day, then you will know what a joke is.”

Ji Yuxiao thought of the other person’s unreliable brother and stepmother and wondered, “We are married now. Do we really not need to go back to your house to see?”

“No, I don’t have a relationship with my family. When my sister was 18, my father kicked her out under the pressure of my stepmother. She stayed with me so for me, my sister and Fei Fei are my only relatives in the world. The others have nothing to do with me.”

Ji Yuxiao felt a bit distressed when he heard this. He felt a bit sorry for Lin Luoqing, even though he knew these things from when he investigated Lin Luoqing before. It was just that his mood at that time was different from his current mood.

At that time, he only looked at it roughly and was unmoved. Now he felt distressed.

“Then you must’ve suffered a lot.”

“In fact, not really,” Lin Luoqing said with a smile.

The original owner didn’t really suffer much. It was Lin Luoxi who really suffered.

She had just turned 18 and went to university when she was kicked out of her home. She also took in the former owner who hadn’t graduated from middle high school. It could be said that she had a child early on.

The original owner wasn’t an obedient and sensible child. He had obviously been driven out of the Lin family but he still had the habit of a young master. He spent money lavishly regardless.

If Lin Luoxi didn’t give it then he would steal it.

Lin Luoxi was helpless and merciful toward her little brother and her kindness was too much. Therefore, the money that could’ve kept her safe and stable for a lifetime was almost completely spent when ‘Lin Luoqing’ became an adult.

Due to this, once Lin Fei reached the age of kindergarten, Lin Luoxi had to go back and ask her father for help to enter an aristocratic kindergarten.

She wanted to give Lin Fei the best education but her money was far from reaching the entry threshold of the kindergarten. Thus, she could only go to her father.

Father Lin helped her out for the sake of his grandson Lin Fei.

Lin Luoxi also took on several part-time jobs in addition to her formal work. This caused her already unhealthy body to become more and more weak. She died before she could see Lin Fei entering primary school.

At the end of her life, Lin Luoxi entrusted Lin Fei to ‘Lin Luoqing’ and prayed to her father to let Lin Fei enter the corresponding aristocratic primary school after her death.

Father Lin didn’t refuse her last words.

‘Lin Luoqing’ cried hoarsely in front of her hospital bed.

Even if he cried like that, it didn’t affect him from feeling that his sister was too selfish and she even left the burden of Lin Fei to him.

If it wasn’t for Chen Feng and Lin Luojing stopping and resolutely not letting Father Lin recognize Lin Fei back, ‘Lin Luoqing’ probably would’ve already found a way to throw away Lin Fei.

So what did he suffer?

Lin Luoqing didn’t feel that there was anything to be sorry about. He didn’t want Ji Yuxiao to feel sorry for the original owner because of him.

Therefore, he looked at Ji Yuxiao with a smile. “My sister had it harder. She was a good person but her heart was too soft and kind.”

Good people sometimes didn’t necessarily have good results.

Lin Luoqing sighed and asked again, “So you don’t need me to perform something tonight?”

“Not for now.”

Ji Yuxiao’s mood was already better at this time.

He wasn’t so angry after leaving the Ji family’s old house.

“You take a break. I’ll go and take a shower,” he told Lin Luoqing.

Lin Luoqing wasn’t in the mood to take a shower. He had too many doubts and guesses. He was also worried about Ji Yuxiao and wanted to stay by Ji Yuxiao’s side to comfort him.

Now that Ji Yuxiao was going to take a shower, he could solve his doubts and guesses.

“Then I’ll go and give Xiao Yu and Fei Fei a bath.”

“You really aren’t too tired.” Ji Yuxiao smiled. “But it is good for you to go. The two of them encountered this type of thing today and they must be uncomfortable. Go and comfort them.”

Lin Luoqing thought that this wasn’t necessarily true. Ji Yuxiao underestimated his nephew and Lin Luoqing’s nephew too much.

Nevertheless, he just smiled. “Yes.”

Ji Yuxiao looked at him. Gentleness slowly emerged on his face and the air seemed sticky in an instant. He was wrapped in the sweetness of caramel and he was physically and mentally relaxed.

It was a type of feeling he never felt before. It was a very novel but pleasant mood.

He waved at Lin Luoqing and signaled for this person to lower his head.

Lin Luoqing curiously bent down to look at him and Ji Yuxiao took Lin Luoqing into his arms.

Lin Luoqing’s heart jumped.

This was the second time Ji Yuxiao had held him like this. It was the same as the last time. It was warm and peaceful, but hot.

Lin Luoqing was timid, as if a seed had sprouted. He carefully reached out his hand and hugged his waist.

His heart seemed to fall before lifting again.

The corners of his lips curled up involuntarily and his voice was low. “Why are you hugging me again?”

It was obviously a questioning sentence but there were no doubts in his tone. There was just a hint of coquettishness.

Ji Yuxiao touched his head and said softly, “It is probably that your male god thinks you are cuter than before.”

Lin Luoqing’s face immediately became a bit hot.

He made a soft ‘oh’ sound and didn’t say anything.

Ji Yuxiao hugged him for a while before letting go and looking at him with a smile.

It wasn’t until Lin Luoqing was inexplicably embarrassed by him and pushed him away that he laughed. He took his pajamas and went to the bathroom in a happy mood.

Lin Luoqing looked at his back. Then after Ji Yuxiao left, he went out briskly to find Ji Leyu and Lin Fei.

Ji Leyu’s room was dark. Lin Luoqing frowned and secretly thought, ‘Strange, where did he go?’

However, this doubt was understood when he arrived at Lin Fei’s room. Ji Leyu was sitting cross-legged on Lin Fei’s bed. He was supporting his cheek with one hand and staring intently at Lin Fei.

Lin Luoqing thought, ‘…What is this?’

Lin papa sounds like a horrible person. No matter how infatuated you are with your mistress, you shouldn’t kick out your underaged children from home, especially not if one kid is actually sickly like his sister is. Gosh, both their dads sound like horrible people. Do they not recognize the blood bond between them? The original Luoqing was awful too, but it seems like he was never disciplined and just grew uo from bad to worse.
