FV: Chapter 132

Lin Luoqing wasn’t too surprised to hear Ji Yuxiao say he would go back to the Ji house for dinner on New Year’s Eve. In the end, it was Ji Yuxiao’s father. They might argue but as long as the relationship between father and son wasn’t severed, it was normal to go back.

He felt that Ji Yuxiao’s interest wasn’t very high. He seemed a bit sad. This type of reunion holiday was the easiest to make people miss relatives and friends. He guessed that Ji Yuxiao should be thinking of his brother.

After all, it was the day of a family reunion but it was impossible for everyone to reunite due to the departure of his brother and sister-in-law.

“If we aren’t going over until tomorrow night, do you want to go and see your brother during the day?” He asked. “It is the new year. It is good to go and talk to him.”

Ji Yuxiao originally wanted to go and see Ji Yuling tomorrow but he didn’t have time to tell Lin Luoqing. Now he heard Lin Luoqing saying this and was a bit surprised, as well as inexplicably happy. “You want to go and see him?”

Lin Luoqing nodded. “After all, it is the New Year. You should miss him very much.”

Hearing this, Ji Yuxiao’s eyes softened. His thoughts stretched out with longing like the clear glow under the moonlight.

He blinked and said in a low voice, “Yes.”

At this time last year, he was still with his brother and discussing where to play on the New Year. Ji Yuling said he didn’t have time so Ji Yuxiao smiled and said he would take Ji Leyu there.

But this year, only he and Ji Leyu remained.

“Come with me. You haven’t met him yet,” Ji Yuxiao said.

Lin Luoqing nodded. He approached and crouched down in front of Ji Yuxiao.

“I originally planned to accompany you.”

He rested his hand on Ji Yuxiao’s lap, lay on it and stared at him with clear eyes.

Ji Yuxiao rubbed his head, eyes hazy.

“Is Xiao Yu going?” Lin Luoqing asked him.

“No,” Ji Yuxiao answered.

Ji Leyu finally cleared up recently. Ji Yuxiao was afraid he would be hurt by that scene and would feel uncomfortable coming back.

“We will go after lunch and come back early.”

“Okay,” Lin Luoqing agreed.

He tilted his head and lay obediently on Ji Yuxiao’s lap.

Ji Yuxiao stroked the side of his face. His mood was like the moonlight at night, gentle and quiet.

Once the night wind came, he saw Lin Luoqing’s gentle and beautiful appearance and the sadness in his heart finally eased a bit.

He couldn’t help bending down. Lin Luoqing looked up suspiciously and was kissed on the lips by Ji Yuxiao.

He kissed very tenderly, like flowing water. There was no passion or desire, only boundless tenderness and loneliness.

Lin Luoqing raised his head, grabbed his shoulders and responded delicately to the kiss.

The moonlight was boundless and the starlight turned the ground mottled.

After lunch the next day, Lin Luoqing and Ji Yuxiao made an excuse to go out and went to Ji Yuling’s grave.

It was very cold. Lin Luoqing stood in front of Ji Yuling’s grave and looked at the photo on the gravestone.

The person in the photo was young and handsome. He had beautiful phoenix eyes that were slightly raised and they contained a bit of pride and confidence. However, the gentleness in his eyes made people feel like a spring breeze.

Lin Luoqing thought of the words ‘light breeze and clear moon (noble and benevolent character). He thought that Ji Yuling should be such a person. This was why Ji Yuxiao, his younger brother, couldn’t forget him, made his son Ji Leyu willing to please him and let Su Tong, who he helped casually, willingly continue to support his younger brother after he left.

It was a pity that Lin Luoqing didn’t have an opportunity to meet him.

Lin Luoqing felt a bit uncomfortable. It wasn’t just due to the powerlessness of dying but also the pain of leaving beautiful things.

The end of a hero and the twilight of a beauty could always easily make people sad, let alone the fall of a proud son like him.

He looked back and saw Ji Yuxiao sitting quietly in the wheelchair. He was staring directly at the gravestone in front of him, eyes sad and heavy.

He was so sad that Lin Luoqing could feel his pain just by looking.

‘I have eyes,’ Ji Yuxiao told his brother in his heart. ‘It is very cruel but I will definitely find out who is hiding behind the scenes. You can rest assured. I will definitely avenge you and Sister-in-law.’

He spoke with hatred and anger in his heart.

But seeing the tenderness in Ji Yuling’s eyes, the anger in his heart slowly calmed down.

The most useless thing in the world was anger. Anger couldn’t solve anything, so he didn’t need this useless emotion.

“I will take good care of Xiao Yu,” Ji Yuxiao said softly.

He turned his head and glanced at Lin Luoqing, his expression softening.

“This is Lin Luoqing, my partner. We are married. We will take care of Xiao Yu together,” he told Ji Yuling.

Lin Luoqing nodded silently.

Ji Yuling’s photo on the gravestone seemed to look at him from a distance. He seemed to be smiling, as if saying ‘okay.’

Lin Luoqing also smiled and said softly, “I’ll take care of Xiao Yu.”

In addition, Ji Yuxiao.

 So rest assured, Brother.

He pushed Ji Yuxiao out of the cemetery.

The street was very lively. It was the Spring Festival and everyone was celebrating the new year. However, there was no joy on Ji Yuxiao’s face.

The excitement of a family reunion belonged to someone else. It had nothing to do with him and would never appear in his home again, between him and his father.

He saw a father holding his child on the street, gentle and loving. At this moment, snow fell in his heart.

Ji Yuxiao and Lin Luoqing didn’t waste a lot of time. They returned home within a few hours, ready to go to the Ji family’s old mansion.

Lin Luoqing chose a handsome little trench coat for Lin Fei. Ji Leyu liked it and also wore a similar set, which looked very cute.

“Let’s go.” Lin Luoqing pulled them out the door.

New Year’s Eve in the Ji family had always been spent with the gathering of several brothers. So at this time, people had already arrived at the old mansion one after another.

When Lin Luoqing and Ji Yuxiao arrived, these people were dissatisfied due to Ji Yuxiao previously letting Lin Luoqing be the CEO of Xingyi and deliberately slighted them.

Fortunately, Lin Luoqing himself didn’t care. Lin Fei also didn’t care. Only Ji Leyu felt some dissatisfaction in his heart after feeling their deliberate alienation.

Father Ji saw him coming and walked over to him with a smile, picking him up. “Xiao Yu is here. Grandpa’s little baby.”

He kissed Ji Leyu.

Ji Leyu looked at him with a smile but his heart was very cold.

Ever since the last time when he pushed Ji Xin into the water and Father Ji insisted on asking Ji Zhong what happened, his feelings toward Father Ji cooled down.

Originally, Father Ji was just a grandfather for him. He loved his father so he loved and respected Father Ji. But ever since that time, he didn’t love or respect Father Ji.

Still, he was still Ji Yuxiao’s father in the end. Ji Yuxiao was still here and Ji Leyu loved Ji Yuxiao, so he wouldn’t show dislike or impatience.

Father Ji didn’t know it and directly hugged him to sit on the sofa. “How is Xiao Yu doing recently? Why didn’t you come to see Grandpa in so long? Grandpa missed you.”

Ji Leyu said childishly, “I miss Grandpa too.”

Father Ji was delighted. “Does Xiao Yu want to stay with Grandpa for a few days? Grandpa will take you out to play.”

“No need.” Ji Leyu didn’t want to live with him. “I want to accompany Dad.”

“Your father now has someone else to accompany him. He doesn’t need you to accompany him.”

“Then I will accompany Dad too.”

Ji Leyu jumped off his legs, not letting his grandfather hug him. He ran to Ji Yuxiao’s side to let Ji Yuxiao hug him.

Ji Yuxiao glanced at his father indifferently. He scooped up Ji Leyu from the ground and hugged Ji Leyu on his lap.

‘He is really wicked,’ Ji Yuxiao thought. ‘He still hasn’t given up on the custody of Ji Leyu.’

It was also fortunate that his brother wrote a will at that time. Otherwise, as an uncle, he might not be able to compete with Father Ji.

Father Ji was irritated by his gaze. Then he saw Lin Luoqing and Lin Fei not paying attention and became more and more irritated.

The rest of the Ji family watched with interest, as if they wanted to see what type of trouble the father and son would do.

Ji Yun’s family came relatively late. After Ji Mu successfully became the general manager, Ji Yun’s father had always been dissatisfied so he was late to the reunion on New Year’s Eve.

Fortunately, everyone got together to have a meal. They didn’t say much and just thought about things.

A group of people sat around the long table for dinner and had a harmonious reunion meal. It was a pity that Ji Yuling and his wife weren’t here. But at this time, no one would naturally mention them out of fear of causing unnecessary trouble.

Ji Yuxiao ate in silence and occasionally helped add food for Ji Leyu, Lin Fei and Lin Luoqing. He ate very elegantly and carefully while thinking that this should be the last reunion dinner he had with his father. At this time next year, he wouldn’t come again.

He glanced at his father. Father Ji’s face was calm and expressionless.

He seemed like the most ordinary father in the world.

However, he was different from other fathers. His heart was far more terrifying than ordinary fathers.

Ji Yuxiao wiped his mouth. He put down his chopsticks and was full.

Lin Luoqing had almost finished eating, so he grabbed some food for Lin Fei and Ji Leyu and stopped moving his chopsticks.

Soon, everyone was finished.

After the meal, the year was over for the brothers and sisters of the Ji family so they said some polite words, stood up and prepared to leave.

Father Ji didn’t keep them. He just looked at Ji Yuxiao and told him, “It is rare for you to come back. Stay here tonight.”

Ji Yuxiao thought about it and agreed.

He would probably never come back, so he wanted to see his and his brother’s room again. After all, this was the room he grew up in when he was a child.

Father Ji had rarely heard such a peaceful tone from his son after he was injured, and felt a bit emotional for a while.

It would be nice if Ji Yuxiao could be like this all the time.

It would be good if Ji Yuxiao’s temper could be a bit better.

Or rather, it could be good if Ji Yuxiao could be a bit gentler.

Why couldn’t he be like his brother?

It would be nice if he was like his brother.

He thought of Ji Yuling and his heart was inevitably sad. It was the New Year’s Eve holiday and he could no longer be reunited with his son.

Among his sons, his favorite was Ji Yuling. How good was Ji Yuling and how gentle and polite was he? He knew how to advance and retreat, and was willing to leave a line for anyone. However, he left forever.

It would be good if he didn’t die.

“This time last year, your brother was still here,” he sighed.

Ji Yuxiao never thought his father would dare to mention his brother. He seemed to be stabbed in an instant and glared angrily.

Father Ji’s eyes became even more complicated. He actually wanted to communicate his feelings with others and talk about how uncomfortable he was after losing Ji Yuling.

However, Ji Yuxiao didn’t want to listen.

He turned the wheelchair and left the dining table directly.

Lin Luoqing hurriedly followed. Ji Yuxiao turned his head, suppressed his anger and tried to make himself look gentle as he told Ji Leyu and Lin Fei, “Come here.”

Ji Leyu immediately jumped off the chair and followed him. Lin Fei also followed.

Ji Yuxiao pushed the wheelchair forward.

There was still no elevator. Ji Yuxiao didn’t want the children to see him needing to be held by Lin Luoqing, so he patted Ji Leyu’s back and deliberately asked him, “Do you remember your bedroom?”

“I remember,” Ji Leyu answered clearly.

“Then take your brother to see it.”

“Okay.” Ji Leyu pulled Lin Fei upstairs.

Ji Yuxiao watched and waited until the two of them passed the corner and couldn’t see him before letting Lin Luoqing carry him up.

Lin Luoqing hugged him and always felt he was a bit dissatisfied. He seemed to be full of stagnant water, heavy and unable to reflect the starlight. He could only suffocate himself in the water.

Father Lin wasn’t a thing but in the end, he wasn’t Lin Luoqing’s biological father. He had no feelings for Father Lin but Ji Yuxiao’s father was his biological father. How could Ji Yuxiao have no feelings for him?

No matter what Ji Yuxiao discovered or perceived, it was undoubtedly pain and torture for him as long as it involved his father.

In particular, it was about his late brother.

Lin Luoqing could hardly imagine how suffocated and in pain Ji Yuxiao was, but he instinctively wanted to comfort Ji Yuxiao.

He carried Ji Yuxiao up the stairs step by step. Once he reached the last step, he suddenly stopped.

“Ji Yuxiao,” he called out to Ji Yuxiao.

Ji Yuxiao raised his eyes. “What…”

Before the last words could emerge, Lin Luoqing lowered his head and kissed him on the lips.

Ji Yuxiao was a bit surprised. He never thought he would be kissed by Lin Luoqing in this position.

Lin Luoqing stared at him with bright and starry eyes.

“Happy New Year,” he said with a smile. “This year is the first new year we have spent together. We will celebrate the new year together in the future.”

Ji Yuxiao felt the shadows being shocked and scattering. Something seemed to fall on the surface of the water. He raised his head, struggling out of the suffocating stagnant water as he held Lin Luoqing’s head and kissed him.

Thus, the starlight of the sky spilled in.

The author has something to say:

Xiao Yu, who was coming to find the two of them, quickly covered his eyes. He thought about it and turned back to cover the eyes of Fei Fei, who was calmly watching this.

Fei Fei: ???

Xiao Yu: You can’t watch it. Children can’t watch it.

Fei Fei: ……

I feel so sorry for Yuxiao, really seems having no relatives would have been better for him than this kind of father you can’t trust or feel good with. I wish we could have known his brother too
