FV: Chapter 221

Lin Luoqing went to film. Ji Yuxiao sat on the chair and continued to weave dragonflies for Lin Fei and Ji Leyu. Lin Fei stared at his hands curiously, as if wanting to learn.

Ji Yuxiao felt his gaze. He simply hugged Lin Fei on his lap, held his soft little hand and taught him how to make it from the beginning.

Lin Fei had this experience for the first time and instinctively looked back at Ji Yuxiao. His eyes were soft and somewhat confused. There was a bit of a child’s ignorance and some subtle admiration for his father.

Ji Yuxiao laughed. He used a gentle tone that contained his usual coaxing when talking to children. “I’ll teach you. You can make one for your uncle once I teach you.”

Lin Fei listened to these words and saw the gentleness on Ji Yuxiao’s face. He nodded and turned back his little head. He followed Ji Yuxiao’s movements attentively and wove the little dragonfly one by one.

In a trance, he remembered when his mother taught him how to write. She had held his hand like this and his hand moved when her hand moved.

She had said, “It is called hand teaching.”

Now someone was teaching him again.

It was his other father.

Ji Yuxiao wasn’t the same as Lin Luoqing, but he was very good to Lin Fei and liked his other father.

For some reason, it was like a butterfly suddenly fell in his heart. It was gentle but made him very happy.

Lin Fei sat on Ji Yuxiao’s lap affectionately. He felt the temperature of his palm and learned seriously to weave the dragonfly.

On the other side, Lin Luoqing was filming with Ji Leyu.

Ji Leyu took him to the tree as written in the script and said, “This is the tree.”

Lin Luoqing, Wen Ziming and Hou Wenyu looked up. The tree was very tall and seemed to be going straight to the sky.

Wen Ziming and Hou Wenyu asked Lin Luoqing, “Your mother said to let you find the biggest tree. Then what? Is she hiding in the tree and waiting for us to go up?”

Lin Luoqing shook his head.

He stared at the tree in front of him for a long time, quiet and silent. He let go of Ji Leyu’s hand and let him play.

Ji Leyu turned and walked toward the grass on the side.

Wen Ziming asked him, “What about your mother’s letter? Take it out to have a look. She doesn’t seem to be around here.”

He looked back as he spoke. He saw that the setting sun had covered the entire mountain a brilliant crimson, as if it had been painted. It was mixed with gold powder and made the world instantly brighten.

“It’s so beautiful,” Wen Ziming sighed emotionally.

Hou Wenyu heard this and also turned around to see this sunset scene. He admired it in awe.

They were watching this when they heard Lin Luoqing’s indifferent voice behind them. “My mother is actually long gone.”

“I lied to you. From beginning to end, she has never been here.”

Wen Ziming and Hou Wenyu looked at him in surprise.

Lin Luoqing’s expression was calm as he told them about Fu Shuyi.

He spoke very calmly, as if he was telling someone else’s story. There wasn’t the slightest trace of tears when talking about his loved one leaving.

But his eyes were sad.

Lu Ming couldn’t accept it. He shook his head and said, “It is impossible. I don’t believe it.”

Fu Xi took out the two letters left by his mother. There was one for each of them. He gave them to the two people in front of him.

For a long time, the mountain breeze passed by and the thin paper was blown by it. Lu Ming’s eyes were red and Xiang Wen’s tears had overflowed.

Fu Xi looked at the brilliant and warm sunset. He thought in his heart that the sun was about to go down and the day was coming to an end.

The same was true of life. One day, people’s lives would be like the sun, sinking into the mountains and sleeping peacefully in the evening wind. Therefore, the days of living needed to be cherished even more.

He turned his head and saw a child playing in the grass. He was innocent and beautiful, simple and full of vitality. He was like the morning light, just waiting for the sun to come out and for his brilliance to bloom.

His life had just begun and his future was still long.

There were always people passing away in the world and there was always new hope born. So just live in the present and cherish every day.

He waited for Xiang Wen and Lu Ming to calm down. He beckoned and shouted, “Xiao Xi, come here.”

The child turned his head, revealing a sweet little face. He held freshly picked flowers in his hands and walked toward him.

His appearance was dreamy and beautiful in the setting sun. His body seemed to bloom layer after layer of light. He was like an angel who had fallen into the world by mistake. He walked in the light and was beautiful like hope itself.

Lin Luoqing pulled him down the mountain and walked toward the bottom of the mountain.

The path was very long and he led Xiao Xi all the way. Lu Ming walked behind him and looked between him and Xiao Xi beside him.

The child’s name was also Xiao Xi. He thought of the young Fu Xi, who used to be almost as big as this.

He thought of every disdainful look, every helpless look and the photo stuffed in his coat pocket before he left.

Lu Ming took out the photo that he had seen an unknown number of times. The three adults in the photo were smiling happily as always and little Fu Xi had a paralyzed face.

He turned over the photo. On the back, the young Fu Xi had written in still immature brushstrokes: Goodbye, Uncle.

After so many years, they finally met again but Fu Xi’s mother was gone forever and Fu Xi himself had grown so big.

The disputes and stubbornness of their youth, their care about face and embarrassment seemed extremely ridiculous at this moment.

He turned to look at Xiang Wen and Xiang Wen also glanced at him. They both had regret in their eyes.

That night, Lu Ming and Xiang Wen had a second heart-to-heart chat in the dark night. They recalled the beautiful past and their eyes were sore as they smiled at each other.

“In the future, let’s raise Xiao Xi together,” Lu Ming said to him. “This way, our sister can be at ease.”

“Yes.” Xiang Wen nodded.

The two of them clinked their beer cups together and drank it in one gulp.

Fu Xi didn’t overhear their conversation this time. He was already asleep. In his dream, he saw his mother under the tree.

“Your wish has been fulfilled,” Fu Xi told her with a gentle tone. “You can rest assured.”

Fu Shuyi approached him and hugged him. “I know. You have always been a good and trustworthy child. I am proud of you.”

She finally touched Fu Xi’s head, just as she did every time she saw him when he was young.

“Goodbye,” she told Fu Xi. “In my next life, I still want to be your mother.”

“Okay,” Fu Xi agreed.

He watched his mother turn and walk into the tree. He turned around and the sun set. The sun slowly sank to the bottom of the mountain, no longer visible.

Goodbye, Mother.

Lu Ming didn’t leave in a hurry. He played in the village with Xiang Wen and Fu Xi for a few days, seeing the scenery that Fu Shuyi couldn’t see. They helped her plant a small tree before leaving here and driving back in the direction they came.

Director Li finished filming the scene where Ji Leyu headed toward Lin Luoqing. He saw that the sunset was still there and filmed it again and again. He filmed three times in a row before finally announcing the end of the scene.

To his surprise, Ji Leyu performed very well for three scenes in a row.

He didn’t show any nervousness facing the camera but he also almost didn’t change his expression, movements and rhythm of walking all three times. Apart from the sunset behind him, he was a perfect replica of himself.

It stood to reason that a child his age didn’t know what it meant to keep improving. It was inevitable that they would feel bored and be in a declining state due to repeating the same actions.

Yet Ji Leyu wasn’t like that. It was like his first time every time. He was full of aura and beautiful like a dream.

It was incredible. He was more suitable for the entertainment industry than his brother.

He didn’t know why but Director Li suddenly found it a bit interesting. For this trio of uncle and nephews, not only did they look good but they were also particularly suitable for the entertainment industry. It was really interesting.

Director Li finished filming and Lin Luoqing and Ji Leyu finally rested.

By this time, the sunset had dissipated and night shrouded the world.

Lin Luoqing and Ji Leyu walked up to Ji Yuxiao and Lin Fei. Ji Yuxiao handed the water to the two of them and asked, “Are you hungry? Do you want to eat something first?”

Ji Leyu nodded. Not only did he have to eat, but he also had to drink yogurt.

Lin Fei took out the biscuits and yogurt in his small bag and handed them over. Ji Leyu generously handed them to Lin Luoqing and ate them with him.

Lin Luoqing was still worried about his little dragonfly and asked Ji Yuxiao, “What about my little dragonfly?”

Ji Yuxiao smiled. He picked up the little dragonfly and placed it in Lin Luoqing’s palm. Then he took out a smaller dragonfly and handed it to Ji Leyu. “Oh, this is for you.”

Ji Leyu took it happily. He carried the branch, shaking it while playing with his little dragonfly.

Lin Luoqing watched and silently looked at Lin Fei. He was worried that Lin Fei also wanted to play.

He handed his little dragonfly over and asked, “Want to play?”

Lin Fei shook his head and took out the little dragonfly that Ji Yuxiao and he had made together. “I have it.”

He looked at Lin Luoqing’s little dragonfly, compared it and realized something. “Yours is bigger.”

Ji Leyu heard this and quickly took out his little dragonfly to compare. He said in amazement, “Mine is the smallest.”

He laughed. “Did Father make it by size? My uncle has the biggest one and I have the smallest.”

Ji Yuxiao scratched his nose. “So clever.”

Ji Leyu happily shook the dragonfly in his hand and his eyes curved in a smile.

As they were talking, the crew also packed up their things. They followed the group down the mountain, got into their cars and returned to the farmhouse.

The night view in the country was always much quieter than the city.

Ji Leyu looked at the stars in the sky and said strangely, “There are so many stars here.”

“Yes.” Lin Luoqing also looked at it.

Ji Leyu suddenly thought about how he sat in the car with his parents and Ji Yuxiao to go out to play. In fact, he had wanted to go camping and they said that they would all go and watch the stars together at night.

But he never saw it.

Now he saw it with his uncle and aunt.

He wished his parents could see it too.

Ji Leyu turned to Ji Yuxiao and opened his arms, asking for a hug.

Ji Yuxiao picked him up and asked Lin Fei, “Does Fei Fei want me to hold you as well?”

Lin Fei shook his head. “I can walk by myself.”

He held Lin Luoqing’s hand and the little dragonfly in his hand swayed with his steps. Lin Fei’s footsteps were brisk as he stepped on the distant moonlight one by one.

Ji Yuxiao looked at it and laughed silently.

He hugged Ji Leyu with one hand. Then he reached out a hand to hold Lin Luoqing’s hand. He interlocked their fingers together and went back to the farmhouse with him.

The rooms were allocated by the staff. Lin Luoqing had been asked how to split it up before. Lin Luoqing said that the four of them could live together to take care of the children. This reason was too strong so the staff didn’t hesitate to allocate the largest room to them.

Lin Luoqing put away his things and rested for a while. Then he heard the assistant come and call him for dinner. They washed their hands and went to the dining room.

After eating, Ji Leyu secretly found Ji Yuxiao and asked him, “Dad, my uncle said that my salary will be sent to you. Did you receive it?”

Ji Yuxiao nodded. “It is received.”

He still felt amazed that the crew actually paid Ji Leyu.

In the very beginning, Lin Luoqing said it would be sent but it was actually to deceive Ji Leyu. It was in order to make him feel the same as Lin Fei, so as to not cause a psychological gap between the two children due to their different treatment.

Later, Lin Luoqing told him that Director Li actually wanted to arrange a role for Ji Leyu and treat him as a formal little actor because of Ji Leyu’s face.

Ji Yuxiao was completely shocked.

Was this the legendary beauty that could be monetized?
Was his little nephew so powerful?

Ji Yuxiao carefully looked at his little nephew’s beautiful and cute little face. It was indeed very good-looking but he relied on this face to gain a role and earn money. It was really mysterious no matter how Ji Yuxiao thought about it.

“You are really good.” Ji Yuxiao sighed emotionally.

Ji Leyu thought Ji Yuxiao was praising him for making money and cocked his head proudly. “Yes.”

“Now half has been received. Once you are done filming and receive the other half, I will use your money to buy you the toy you want, alright?” Ji pinched his face. Then it felt good so he pinched it again.

Ji Leyu shook his head.

He smiled brightly. “I don’t want toys.”

“What do you want?”

“I will give you pocket money,” Ji Leyu said brightly. “This way, you will have two sets of pocket money and can buy two sets of toys that you want.”

Ji Yuxiao couldn’t believe it. He couldn’t help a smile from overflowing on his face as he looked at Ji Leyu with surprise. “What did you say?”

“I said I am going to give you pocket money,” Ji Leyu said seriously. “I am still young. I will give you this much first. Once I grow up and make more money, I will give you more pocket money, just like how you give me pocket money now.”

Ji Yuxiao was instantly moved.

He stared at the child in front of him and hugged the child with an uncontrollable emotion. He hugged Ji Leyu tightly and lowered his head to kiss his forehead.

His baby was still so young. Obviously, he couldn’t make money but he was already thinking about giving Ji Yuxiao pocket money. He was simply a little angel.
It was the sweetest little angel in the world.

Ji Yuxiao hugged him and kissed his forehead lovingly. He felt that his heart was soaked by these childish words and he was soft.

“Father’s little baby,” he said softly. “How can there be such a well-behaved and cute child in the world? Father is so happy.”

Ji Leyu listened to these words and felt his kiss. He thought that since Ji Yuxiao was so happy, Ji Leyu would make more money in the future and give him more pocket money. Oh, there was his aunt as well. Once the other half of his salary arrived, he would give his aunt pocket money and he would definitely be very happy.

Thinking of this, Ji Leyu’s eyes curved again. He really hoped to receive the other half of his salary as soon as possible.
