FV: Chapter 196

Ji Mu was stunned. He hadn’t expected this person to say such a thing.

‘A madman,’ he thought. ‘Ji Yuxiao, this madman. He is simply a madman now!’

He turned around and walked out, his footsteps fast. However, he heard Ji Yuxiao’s voice coming from behind him.

“I won’t kill you this time but there won’t be a second time. Next time, I won’t just let you die if you approach Xiao Yu again. I will make you live a life worse than death.”

Ji Mu looked back in horror. Ji Yuxiao was sitting in a large area of sunlight. The sun was shining and his pale skin became even more gloomy and terrifying.

The knife in his hand hadn’t been put down. The tip was dripping with blood. But it was his eyes that were even more ruthless and cold than the knife.

Ji Mu suddenly thought of Ji Yuxiao in high school.

Once, he went out with a few friends to eat. Halfway through the meal, they talked about Ji Yuling and he badmouthed Ji Yuling. He made fun at Ji Yuling a few times to get the praise of his friends. He was laughing when he heard Ji Yuxiao’s voice from behind him.

He asked, “Is it so cool to scold someone?”

The next second, Ji Yuxiao had already walked in front of him. Before he could say anything, Ji Yuxiao directly lifted the table where they had been eating.

He hadn’t expected Ji Yuxiao to disrespect him so much. He was full of anger in his heart and scolded Ji Yuxiao on the spot for having no quality. What he received in response was Ji Yuxiao’s kick that came with no warning.

He didn’t say a word. He just directly kicked Ji Mu to the ground and stared at him without a trace of emotion in his eyes.

Ji Yuxiao’s friends held back his friends.

Ji Yuxiao crouched down, stared into his eyes and told him clearly, “If you let me hear you say that about my brother again, it won’t be as simple as beating you.”

His eyes were cold and the place where Ji Yuxiao just kicked was in severe pain. Ji Mu knew that Ji Yuxiao’s words were true.

Ji Mu had never been afraid of Ji Yuling. It was because Ji Yuling was willing to talk and knew how to advance and retreat. He had a sense of proportion and saved face for others in front of outsiders.

Ji Yuxiao was different.

He lived arrogantly and recklessly. He was completely different from Ji Yuling. He never cared about other people’s face. He only gave this care to the people he wanted to give it to.

Ji Mu was never among the people he wanted to give it to.

Thus, Ji Mu hated Ji Yuxiao but was also afraid of Ji Yuxiao. It wasn’t that he had never argued with Ji Yuxiao but he had never beaten Ji Yuxiao once.

Ji Yuxiao never regarded him as an older brother, just as he never regarded Ji Yuxiao as a younger brother.

It was just that Ji Yuxiao had a better background than him, was more powerful than him and was less greedy and ambitious than him.

He lived life with pride and in a dashing manner. He disdained the world.

He didn’t compete for fame or profit. He seemed to care about nothing except for his relatives and friends.

When Ji Yuling was alive, Ji Yuxiao didn’t care about the Ji Group.

Ji Yuling was gone and he still didn’t care about the Ji Group.

He didn’t seem to know what a sought-after position it was. He would rather watch Ji Mu ascend to the top than follow his father and enter the company that should’ve belonged to him.

At this moment, Ji Mu suddenly realized that Ji Yuxiao hadn’t changed at all. He was the same as before, just like he was in high school. On the contrary, it was because he had nothing that he was even freer of restraints and scruples.

He transferred his feelings for Ji Yuling to Ji Yuling’s only child. Thus, Ji Leyu became the reverse scale that absolutely shouldn’t be touched.

Ji Mu shouldn’t have thought about Ji Leyu in the first place.

Ji Leyu was young and didn’t understand anything. He couldn’t distinguish between good and bad and might be willing to turn against Ji Yuxiao.

Ji Yuxiao wouldn’t blame him. Of course, Ji Yuxiao wouldn’t blame him. Ji Yuxiao would only target the person who wanted to compete with him for Ji Leyu.

He wouldn’t let go of anyone who dared to fight with him. He didn’t care even if it meant killing the other person.

It was because he wouldn’t allow Ji Leyu to go to anyone other than him.

This was Ji Yuling’s child. Ji Yuxiao wouldn’t be at ease no matter who took care of him. He could only take care of Ji Leyu himself, raising Ji Leyu and watching him grow step by step.

He never hid it nor denied it. Ji Mu should’ve seen it a long time ago, from the first time Ji Yuxiao argued with his father and insisted on taking care of Ji Leyu.

He just hadn’t expected that Ji Leyu would become so crazy.

“There won’t be a next time,” Ji Mu whispered. “Definitely not.”

He couldn’t possibly win over a madman.

He still wanted to live. He had desires and ambitions. He was destined to lose to Ji Yuxiao, who had no desire for the world.

“That is naturally the best.” Ji Yuxiao looked at him calmly. “Come here.”

Ji Mu covered his injured neck and walked over.

“Your phone.” Ji Yuxiao stretched out his hand.

Ji Mu froze for a moment. Then he understood the meaning of this sentence, took out his phone and handed it over.

“There is no recording and I won’t call the police. Don’t worry.”

He wasn’t dead. Ji Yuxiao’s identity plus their blood relationship meant that it was useless even if he called the police.

In fact, Ji Mu had never thought of calling the police at all. He was even surprised that Ji Yuxiao had such an idea.

Families like theirs never had this type of awareness.

Ji Yuxiao checked to make sure that his words were true. Then he returned the phone to Ji Mu.

He knew that Ji Mu wouldn’t call the police. He was just afraid that Ji Mu would record it and when the time came, Lin Luoqing, Lin Fei or Ji Leyu might hear it. That wasn’t what he wanted.

He didn’t want them to see this side of him. He just wanted to be a thoughtful lover, a gentle father.

“You let Fang Xin appear so you are responsible for making him disappear. If he is still in the same school as Xiao Yu tomorrow, don’t blame me for making things ugly.”

“Yes,” Ji Mu promised.

“Now you can go.” Ji Yuxiao’s tone finally returned to its usual calmness.

It was just that Ji Mu didn’t think so.

He quickly turned around and left, not wanting to stay another second.

Ji Yuxiao watched him leave and took out a tissue. He slowly wiped the knife in his hand and put it back in the scabbard.

The scabbard was pure white and the pattern on it was as beautiful as ever. It looked the same as before.

Ji Yuxiao looked at the knife in his hand and slowly smiled.

Ji Mu came out of Ji Yuxiao’s villa, got into the car and urged the driver to leave.

The driver saw the blood stain on his neck and was surprised. “What’s wrong?”

“Go to the hospital,” Ji Mu ordered coldly.

He covered his neck and couldn’t stop feeling afraid.

If the knife had gone up a bit further or entered a bit deeper, he might not have been able to leave this villa.

He looked at the villa in front of him and thought that he would never come here again.

He never wanted to see Ji Yuxiao again.

By the time Ji Leyu and Lin Fei returned home, Xiao Li had already cleaned up the living room and even cleaned up the blood stains that dripped from Ji Mu along the way. This ensured that the two children and Aunt Zhang wouldn’t see anything and wouldn’t know.

Ji Yuxiao took a bath, changed into a new dressing gown and waited for Ji Leyu to appear at home.

He remembered the way that Ji Leyu came back in the past two days, talking sweetly with him every day and smiling brilliantly. This made Ji Yuxiao feel distressed.

He naturally knew that Ji Leyu was sensitive and caring.

He wouldn’t go out to play because Ji Yuxiao couldn’t walk. He just accompanied Ji Yuxiao at home.

Ji Yuxiao sometimes wanted Luo Jia to accompany him to the amusement park to play, but Ji Leyu shook his head and refused.

Ji Leyu didn’t want Ji Yuxiao to send him to school and pick him up out of fear it would be inconvenient for him.

He didn’t want to go out to play because of Ji Yuxiao’s legs.

He went out happily every day and came home happily. He talked to Ji Yuxiao about the interesting things he had encountered.

Ji Leyu never lost his temper with Ji Yuxiao, let alone argued with him. For such a big thing as marriage, he just said that it was fine as long as they liked each other and agreed.

Children of this age were still playing around and exercising their right as children to be ignorant and self-willed. However, Ji Leyu had already given up on this.

He was like a cat without claws. He leaned against Ji Yuxiao and only hoped that he would be happy.

Even now, Fang Xin appeared and Ji Leyu was uncomfortable and pained, but he was unwilling to tell Ji Yuxiao. He just asked Lin Fei to tell Lin Luoqing, hoping that Lin Luoqing would help him transfer Fang Xin to another school.

He didn’t want Ji Yuxiao to worry and was afraid that Ji Yuxiao would feel bad for him.

Ji Yuxiao sighed, his heart soft and pained.

He was too sensible but Ji Yuxiao didn’t want him to be so sensible.

“The meal is ready, Sir.” Aunt Zhang knocked on the door and told him.

Ji Yuxiao nodded and went downstairs to eat.

Ji Leyu was already at the dining table. He still looked happy as he talked. He made the dining room very lively.

Ji Yuxiao listened cooperatively and nodded from time to time. Ji Yuxiao chatted with him without saying anything and helped him grab some dishes.

After eating, they went upstairs together. Ji Leyu’s homework wasn’t finished and he was ready to go to Lin Fei’s bedroom to do his homework.

Ji Yuxiao stopped him and told him, “Go to your bedroom. I have something to talk to you about.”

He turned to look at Lin Fei and said with a smile, “Fei Fei, I have to talk to Xiao Yu about something. He will go to you later.”

Lin Fei nodded.

He and Lin Luoqing often talked together. It was normal for Ji Yuxiao to want to talk to Ji Leyu.

Lin Fei turned around and entered his room, leaving space for the uncle and nephew.

Ji Leyu followed Ji Yuxiao into his bedroom and asked curiously, “What’s the matter, Dad?”

Ji Yuxiao looked at him and didn’t know how to speak for a while.

He felt that he should comfort Ji Leyu. Ji Leyu had experienced such a thing and he was so young. How could Ji Yuxiao not comfort him?

However, he didn’t know how to comfort Ji Leyu.

How could he say it to make Ji Leyu less uncomfortable?

Ji Yuxiao thought for a long time before finally holding Ji Leyu on his lap and looking at him gently.

Ji Leyu didn’t understand it even more. What had happened? Why was his uncle just looking at him without speaking?

It was very strange.

Ji Yuxiao was silent for a long time before he asked softly, “Have you seen Fang Xin?”

Ji Leyu was stunned for a moment. The next second, he realized it should be Lin Luoqing who said it.

Lin Fei told Lin Luoqing and Lin Luoqing told his uncle.

He pursed his lips. He didn’t blame Lin Luoqing. He just didn’t want Ji Yuxiao to know. Now that Ji Yuxiao knew, he was a bit unhappy.

Ji Yuxiao noticed his small movements and explained, “Your father told me. He knows that you don’t want me to know because you don’t want me to worry about you, but he is afraid I would be in danger. He hoped I could pay more attention, so he told me.”

Ji Leyu immediately cared about him. “Then will you be in danger?”

“Now that I know about it, I won’t.”

Ji Leyu was relieved and comforted him. “I’m fine. Dad, you don’t have to worry about me.”

Ji Yuxiao listened to these words and felt even more distressed.

He touched Ji Leyu’s hair, his eyes full of pampering.

“Xiao Yu, I didn’t expect Ji Mu to do this. I was careless, I’m sorry.”

Ji Leyu shook his head. “I don’t blame you. It is his fault. He is the one who isn’t good. It has nothing to do with you.”

“Are you uncomfortable?” Ji Yuxiao asked him. “Do you hate Fang Xin? Are you uncomfortable? Have you been thinking of your parents in the last few days? Did you cry?”

Ji Leyu was stunned.

He hadn’t expected Ji Yuxiao to ask him this. He didn’t know what to say for a while and subconsciously lowered his head.

Ji Yuxiao hugged him tightly and kissed his hair.

“You won’t see him again,” he promised his beloved child. “In the future, this won’t happen again.”

Ji Leyu nodded obediently.

Ji Yuxiao’s tone was gentle. “I won’t let those who hurt your parents go. You don’t have to worry. They will all receive retribution and punishment. You can hate Fang Xin and feel uncomfortable. You can be angry and lose your temper. This is normal. Don’t force yourself to be happy every day just because you don’t want me to worry. Xiao Yu, people will be unhappy, especially children. You can be self-willed and play around. You can lose your temper and hide in the arms of adults when encountering sad things.’

“Your parents are gone and I am your father. You can hide in my arms, be willful with me and lose your temper with me. Don’t worry about me, let alone suppress your emotions with me. I used to be your uncle, your elder and your father’s little brother. So I will protect you when danger comes. It is because I like you and you are my relative.”

“Now that I am your father, I will protect you even more. A father should protect his child but the child doesn’t need to protect his father. The reason why a father is a father is because he is stronger and more powerful. You are still young, a child. You don’t need to protect me. You just need to grow up healthy. You should laugh when you are happy and tell me when you are unhappy. That is what I want.”

“In this way, it can show that I am a qualified father who allows my child to live very comfortably, you know?”

I don’t like how they allow him to hate the child, sure he can be u comfortable to be around him… but the kid did nothing wrong and just like Leyu he’s also an innocent in this unfortunate situation.

Feelings are not subjected by the justice. It’s normal to hate the son of the person who killed your parents, especially when you are still grieving (and despite the fact that Leyu actively avoids thinking about his parents completely focusing on his uncle he is still grieving). It’s actually better to let him hate the boy he will never meet again than bottle up his emotions until they explode. I actually love that Yuxiao talked with Leyu and said it’s fine to have negative emotions and not always be a perfect child.

The kid did nothing wrong but Leyu also did nothing wrong. Matter of feelings isn’t as simple as black or white.

Even I would be uncomfortable to see my ex’s family bc it would remind me of the times and the hurt I experienced, despite them being innocent and didn’t have anything to do with our failed relationships at all. It is just a failed relationship, mind you. How about losing your parents and your beloved uncle becoming disabled? Do you think you can just calmly facing the culprit’s family members with no grudge?

It is not justified, yes. But since when are feelings justified? It isn’t Fang Xin’s fault. But what could they do if Fang Xin’s very existence was what caused Leyu’s pain? It isn’t about Fang Xin as a person, but the fact that Fang Xin is still alive while Leyu’s parents are dead. They are all innocent but only Leyu’s parents are dead. They could never make up for Leyu’s loss. Letting Fang Xin transfer is already the greatest mercy they could give.

Not letting Leyu hate is just hypocritical. Humans are inherently selfish. Not everyone could be a saint. It’s already best that he could vent his emotions without harming anyone.

Mm, I guess being pretentious is in the blood.

I just hope that when Fang Xin was transferred, it was handled okay and no would hurt him because he is an innocent bystander
