CEFYMA: Chapter 80

The ice sculpture town was so cold that even though You Mian wanted to visit all the exhibitions in one go, the increasingly dark sky and howling cold wind stopped him.

In the distance, two men wearing heavy green military coats gradually approached.

You Mian was wrapped in the scarf and squinted through the mist rising from the tip of his nose to clearly see who was coming.

Guan Tong and Shen Nanxiao kept squeezing together. You Mian only heard Guan Tong hissing in the cold wind. “Are you still shopping? Nanxiao and I walked around the indoor clothing store over there for a long time, but I didn’t expect it to get colder and colder outside.”

Pei Huaiji stood beside You Mian with his hands in his pockets. The man’s eyes were still cold. He was the only one among them who didn’t show any signs of being frozen.

You Mian’s shoulders shrank back. “It is really too cold. Let’s go back first. Where are the others?”

Yun Guanqing had just run to a nearby coffee shop to warm his hands, but hadn’t come out yet.

You Mian didn’t know what the other person had been tapping on his phone, but he knew that Yun Guanqing’s hands were a bit red from the cold.

Pei Huaiji nodded calmly, glanced sideways at You Mian’s red ears, and said in a deep voice, “You can inform the others in the group to go back first.”

Guan Tong and Shen Nanxiao, two people who had just walked out of a warm place, immediately picked up their phones and sent voice messages.

You Mian saw this and no longer hesitated. The group quickly returned to the largest Heartbeat House that Guan Tong had chosen.

Not long after they entered, Yun Guanqing pushed the door open and entered.

The long-haired man took off his hat, panting slightly with a red nose. His eyes fell on You Mian, and he chuckled helplessly, “Hey, you didn’t even wait for me.”

You Mian raised his hands to touch his ears and rubbed them with his warm palms.

The young man’s eyes were blank as if he didn’t know why Yun Guanqing said such things.

You Mian said, “I informed you in the group chat because I didn’t know how long you would stay inside>”

Yun Guanqing heard these words and felt that his heart was crackling and almost freezing. Anyone with a discerning eye could see that everyone’s closeness and distance had a clear ranking in You Mian’s heart.

Yun Guanqing believed that his current ranking was at the bottom.

Once he discovered this, he lowered his eyes with disappointment.,

However, his depressed mood was soon saved because there were two people behind him. Yan Tingxuan and Huo Yanzhi belatedly arrived.

Guan Tong ran to the kitchen and brought hot water over. He poured seven cups and spread out the flying chess game on the low table in front of the sofa.

Yan Tingxuan stood at the entrance. He noticed You Mian, who was sitting on the single-seat sofa and bending down to carefully listen to Guan Tong’s explanation. The young man’s curly hair lay softly against the side of his face. His eyes were smiling, and he was supporting his chin with one hand. His expression wasn’t sleepy at all.

Huo Yanzhi raised his hand and scratched his head. He wasn’t wearing a hat. This trip out made him so cold that he couldn’t speak.

“It is still warm in the house.” Huo Yanzhi lowered his head and changed his shoes. There was no longer the familiar attitude between him and Yan Tingxuan like there was in the first episode. There was the subtle atmosphere of competition and jealousy.

Shen Nanxiao sat on the sofa and leaned back against it. Hearing the sound, he turned his head and beckoned. “Everyone, come and sit.”

Huo Yanzhi scratched his head and walked over, sitting across from the single-seat sofa. He explained softly, “I sent Bai Lin back just now. He complained that his legs hurt.”

Huo Yanzhi was staring at You Mian when he explained, but the other person didn’t seem to care about it and didn’t even give him a look.

Huo Yanzhi pursed his lips tightly.

Shen Nanxiao hugged the pillow and sighed. “Bai Lin has a small house to himself. Brother Yan, why did you come so late?”

Shen Nanxiao’s roommate was Yan Tingxuan. The polite and distant attitude between the two of them had long stopped, and they didn’t send heartbeat text messages to each other, so the relationship between him and Yan Tingxuan had become much more casual.

Yan Tingxuan pointed to his eyes and smiled politely. “I went to get contact lenses.”

The conversation between the three of them wasn’t loud, but it was enough to attract the attention of others. Guan Tong glanced over instinctively, but You Mian kept staring silently at the flying chess game in front of him, not saying a word.

Huo Yanzhi suddenly remembered his identity as the owner of the house. He got up and walked to the kitchen to find some quick pizza and soda that the staff had prepared.

The man’s arm muscles were smooth and strong after taking off the coat. He stood behind the counter and showed a unique charm that had never been shown in front of the camera.

“Suddenly, I remembered that there was pizza. Everyone might be hungry after shopping outside all afternoon, right?” Huo Yanzhi lowered his head and pressed the button on the microwave oven.

Guan Tong made a wow sound. He turned around and shouted loudly, “Thank you, Brother Huo!”

The group of people also shouted a few times after hearing this.

Huo Yanzhi smiled. For the first time, his thick and fierce eyebrows no longer looked ready to attack.

His eyes were still focused on You Mian. From this angle, he could see the other person’s back and slender neck.

He hadn’t participated in the lively agreement just now.

You Mian was always far away, making Huo Yanzhi feel that he no longer had any connection with You Mian.

Huo Yanzhi lowered his eyes to put away these thoughts. He waited for a few minutes to pass before picking up the hot pizza and walking to the low table. He sat cross-legged.

At this time, Guan Tong was talking about the grouping. “Throw the dice to decide. Two in each group.”

“But there are seven of us. One person has to be alone.”

Guan Tong placed the cylinder with the dice in front of You Mian. “I am an old player, so I will play alone.”

“Those who get the same number will be in a group.”

You Mian took the cylinder and bent down to shake it. The sound of the die shaking echoed in the room. After half a second, everyone’s breathing slowed down a bit and left only the clattering sound of the die.

Yan Tingxuan was glad he had gone to get his contact lenses, or it would be even more painful for him to guess the number You Mian got based on other people’s reactions.

Huo Yanzhi didn’t have time to let everyone take the pizza to eat, so he only frowned and paid attention to You Mian’s wrist.

Yun Guanqing nonchalantly took a sip of soda on the surface, but his eyes were actually fixed in You Mian’s direction.

You Mian let go of his hand, opened the cylinder, and said, “Six.”

There wasn’t much buffer time after the number appeared. Almost immediately, Guan Tong put the die into the cylinder again and handed it to Huo Yanzhi beside him. “Here, Brother Huo. Your turn.”

Huo Yanzhi pursed his lips. He placed the cylinder on the low table and vigorously shook it. The sound was much louder than You Mian’s just now.

“Three.”

Guan Tong was a business-like ‘dealer.’ He barely gave anyone buffer time and quickly handed the cylinder around.

“Brother Huo is on a team with Brother Yan, Brother Yun is on a team with Chairman Pei, and Mianmian is on a team with Nanxiao…” Guan Tong looked at the number six that Shen Nanxiao showed and confirmed it. “The two of you are in a team.”

At this moment, all those who believed in fate and those who didn’t believe in fate sighed helplessly.

For the first time, Yun Guanqing hated the idea of fate. It was because, according to this argument, he and You Mian had no fate in this world. He really didn’t want to accept it.

In addition, Yan Tingxuan and Huo Yanzhi’s expressions weren’t too good.

In particular, after Yan Tingxuan changed to contact lenses, he could no longer use the excuse of taking off his glasses and wiping them to control himself.

Pei Huaiji was the calmest one among all the people except for You Mian. He always had the word ‘calm’ engraved on his face. He always accepted any arrangement of fate without changing his expression.

The cold wind howled outside and the tree shadows swayed. This ice sculpture town far away from Huajiang City became quiet at night. The simulated fireplace in the living room was making crackling wood burning sounds along with the sound of wind outside the window, reflecting a warm red light. It was very warm.

The sound of die shaking on the low table continued. Several planes departed from the starting point and advanced with the number of points that were shaken out.

You Mian’s amber eyes were extremely bright. He was lucky and could continuously throw high numbers.

The game atmosphere in the room gradually heated up with the young man’s chic smile.

As time passed, only one piece of pizza was eaten.

“It is time for Brother Yan’s group. Who will shake it among the two of you?”

“Hey, take four steps!”

“…You have to go backward here. You stepped on a trap.”

Flying chess was a game that took a long time for a single game. So after a few rounds, the initially excited You Mian was already holding the warm cup with drowsy eyes.

The lively but not noisy laughter in his ears became the best noise to help him sleep. You Mian’s eyelids became heavier and heavier.

More than an hour later, the planes shuffled and departed. The light in the fireplace seemed to dim a lot.

You Mian hugged the pillow and nodded drowsily. Suddenly, Pei Huaiji’s low voice sounded in his ears. “You Mian, go home.”

You Mian raised his hand and rubbed his eyes. He found that Pei Huaiji was standing next to him and holding his gray scarf.

“Aren’t you guys still playing?” You Mian got up in confusion.

Pei Huaiji wrapped the scarf around You Mian’s neck and hid his chin by the way.

The man said, “It is too late. There will be a recording tomorrow.”

It was only then that You Mian noticed that everyone else had gotten up and was dressed neatly.

Yun Guanqing stood sourly not far away from them, saying, “It is windy outside. Button up your clothes.”

Shen Nanxiao’s eyes rolled in a joking manner. “You Mian must treat me to dinner. I’ve been fighting alone all night.”

You Mian’s ears were red from sleep, and he just nodded blankly when he heard the words. He was so cute that it made people feel overwhelmed.

There was a creaking sound, and the door of the igloo was pushed open. Except for Guan Tong and Huo Yanzhi who stayed here, everyone got up and left.

Guan Tong stood at the door with a somewhat nostalgic look on his face. “If it wasn’t for the show being recorded tomorrow, I would really want to play all night.”

Huo Yanzhi’s gaze fell on You Mian’s back. He only reluctantly closed the door when the cold wind blew in.

There was a crunching sound as the snow was stepped on.

Four tall men walked in the cold wind. Shen Nanxiao and Yan Tingxuan’s house was a bit further away than You Mian’s, so it was natural for them to walk together.

Yan Tingxuan’s pace slowed down a bit when he saw the shadow of the smallest Heartbeat House.

Pei Huaiji and Yun Guanqing strode forward. Then they suddenly heard Yan Tingxuan say, “You Mian, I have something to give you.”

You Mian’s original sleepiness was wiped away by the cold wind when he walked out the door. He heard Yan Tingxuan’s voice very clearly at this moment.

You Mian frowned. The moment he turned around, he saw Yan Tingxuan looking at him steadily as if he didn’t want to take back what he just said.

Pei Huaiji also glanced at Yan Tingxuan a few times.

Yun Guanqing pursed his lips tightly. He thought Pei Huaiji would intervene to stop it, but he only heard Pei Huaiji say, “Then let’s go back first.”

Yun Guanqing: “?”

Yun Guanqing was stunned for a moment. Just let Yan Tingxuan and You Mian be alone?

Yun Guanqing frowned again. Then he heard You Mian say, “Find a place with less wind.”

Yun Guanqing: “……”

You Mian and You Mian came to a location blocked by a building. The lights flickering in the distance weren’t dim. You Mian could clearly see Yan Tingxuan’s every move.

Along with the cold wind, You Mian saw Yan Tingxuan take something out of his pocket.

The thick muscles on the back of the man’s hand were somewhat bulging. There were obvious bruises and red scars on them.

You Mian remembered this type of scar clearly. It was the result of being beaten every time You Mian disobeyed his parents’ orders or suggestions. He hadn’t seen it many times, but he had seen it at least four or five times.

Yan Tingxuan opened his palm. There was a USB flash drive lying quietly on it.

Yan Tingxuan glanced at You Mian in a calm but gentle manner. He said, “There is some information about You Jiyuan and Xiuming in here. Maybe you can use it.”

Yan Tingxuan explained his achievements in the past half a month with a few words. He didn’t ask for credit or expect You Mian to show joy. He only hoped that You Mian would accept it.

You Mian pursed his lips indifferently. “Are you deliberately showing me the wound?”

Yan Tingxuan’s palm shook in the cold wind, and the man smiled helplessly. “That really isn’t the case this time.”

Indeed, Yan Tingxuan hadn’t expected You Mian to see the wound on his hand.

You Mian asked, “Not this time, so how many times has it happened before?”

Yan Tingxuan found that his voice was trembling and he gulped. “There have been many times before. I can’t count them.”

Yan Tingxuan couldn’t count how many times he had taken advantage of You Mian, nor could he remember how many times he had weighed and compared the benefits in his mind when facing You Mian.

It could only be said to be countless times.

“The things inside…” Yan Tingxuan’s throat was dry. He paused before continuing, “Chairman Pei might’ve missed some things. It is good to have more protection.”

You Mian put his hands in his pockets and looked at Yan Tingxuan indifferently. “I don’t think I need it.”

You Mian didn’t say this out of anger. It was a decision made from reason.

The moment the cold wind blew, Yan Tingxuan felt a chill go down the back of his neck and his spine.

“You don’t want it?” Yan Tingxuan’s arm hung down weakly.

You Mian nodded and cruelly walked past him back to the house.

“Stop doing such useless things.” You Mian threw out this sentence indifferently. “Not only will you make no money, but you will also be beaten, right?”

Hell no. I love this crematorium because none of these scums are the ML. One befriended him for benefits, one to spy on him, and one dropped him because he thinks he wasn’t interesting anymore after being outed as a fake. They were deceptive and fair-weather friends. Them abandoning YM was tearing their masks away. Their love and friendship are conditional and cheap because they never even took into account the relationship and feelings they built with YM. The timeline is already 2 years after they abandoned him and none of these a-holes thought to be guilty or reach out until they noticed he was cutting them off completely.

Umm but i think you should left out the actor.. based on YM attitude towards him, YM just distanced himself from him because he is one of those rivals for BL since they do not know each other.. YM just know him from the start of the show right.. that’s why YM forgive the actor when he sincerely apologize.. but i do agree they all are not worthy as ML..

i think the huge reason on why mianmian distanced himself with the actor is because from the first time they’ve met, he only provoked mianmian and treated him with nasty attitude. as you said, they didn’t know each other, but do you remember how he acted towards the mianmian the first time they’ve met? i agree he was less hateful than lawyer and the boxer, but i also liked that none of the three didn’t stand a chance

absolutely not. just thinking about how they treated mianmian, it makes me so angry. i definitely loved seeing them grovel without any chance of receiving satisfaction. the reason why i loved this novel is because no matter how much they reflect, once mianmian decided to cut them off from the beginning, he’s resolute about it. you betray his trust? you can never earn it back.

haha, no, I love my 1v1 pairing of Mianmian and Brother Chair.
I love how others are realizing their mistakes and chasing Mianmian for forgiveness and getting shot down by him.
But I do have to say, after reading this chapter, I feel sympathy for Yan Tingxuan because it’s clear he is the way he is because of his family’s abuse and upbringing. But that doesn’t mean I support him.
I wholeheartedly agree with Mianmian maintaining distance from all of them, especially Huo guy.
