Huo Yanzhi suddenly spoke and interrupted the excessive ambiguous atmosphere at the moment.
“You two… that isn’t good, right?” Huo Yanzhi spoke with a smile, but his expression was so gloomy that this sentence didn’t seem like a joke.
The man twisted his pair of thick eyebrows. The broad lines of his shoulders were tense, and his whole body was alert and vigilant. No matter who looked at him, he seemed offended and angry.
You Mian looked at Huo Yanzhi in an expressionless manner. He wondered why this man suddenly went crazy.
On the other hand, Pei Huaiji looked like he didn’t care what Huo Yanzhi said. He sat there with a cold face and red ears.
Even though Pei Huaiji didn’t say a word, Huo Yanzhi was still frightened of his presence and tightened the corners of his mouth. He restrained the inexplicable uneasiness that surged up at this moment.
Guan Tong couldn’t understand it. He glanced at Huo Yanzhi beside him with a complicated expression.
It was obvious that Huo Yanzhi had been quite ‘normal ‘before everyone got together. How come this person would suddenly do or say things out of reflex at certain moments that made people not know how to respond?
Guan Tong smiled awkwardly, unable to find a suitable answer for a while.
There was a stalemate at the time.
Suddenly, in the quiet atmosphere, something flashed in Guan Tong’s head. He finally realized what these inexplicable moments had in common!
The first time, Huo Yanzhi suddenly squeezed his arm because he wanted to get up and hug You Mian.
The second time, Huo Yanzhi acted strange due to the interaction between You Mian and Pei Huaiji being too intimate.
Guan Tong’s body gradually stiffened as he sat in the chair. He felt that he had discovered the truth.
Could it be that it was really due to good feelings that Huo Yanzhi frequently looked at You Mian on the first day in the house?
However, if Huo Yanzhi really had a good impression of You Mian at that time, the person he should’ve been pestering in the last few days was You Mian, not Bai Lin.
Guan Tong sighed and muttered in a low voice, “What a scumbag.”
Just as Guan Tong was lost in his thoughts and couldn’t extricate himself, there was a violent vibration from upstairs. It was as if something had smashed down. The ceiling shook violently!
Boom—!
Everyone was startled. Guan Tong covered his head and shouted, “Oh my god! What happened?”
Shen Nanxiao stood up quickly and shouted upstairs several times. “Yan Tingxuan? Bai Lin?!”
You Mian turned and glanced at the stairs. He noticed that no one was running down and realized that things should be fine.
Huo Yanzhi frowned. His expression still hadn’t recovered from the gloomy appearance just now.
The man said coldly, “Maybe something fell.”
You Mian instinctively frowned after hearing Huo Yanzhi’s voice. He really couldn’t figure out the reason for Huo Yanzhi’s behavior just now. Could it be that he was angry because of Bai Lin’s hot search?
You Mian lowered his eyes and hissed. He thought that if Huo Yanzhi really wanted to fight him, he didn’t have the confidence to beat this boxer.
You Mian silently put taekwondo classes on the agenda in the future and calmed down.
There were so many cameras at the scene and many staff members outside. Even if Huo Yanzhi’s temper broke out and he rushed up to grab You Mian’s collar, there would definitely be others to help stop it.
You Mian went through all of this in his mind and calmly looked at the ceiling.
Shen Nanxiao pushed away the chair and walked to the staircase. He said anxiously, “Let’s talk to the staff of the show. What if the fall was really serious?”
Before Shen Nanxiao could step on the stairs, a staff member ran in from outside and signaled to Shen Nanxiao that he didn’t need to move. The staff member would go upstairs.
Shen Nanxiao saw this and no longer tried to walk up. He turned to look at the others.
The leisurely chatting atmosphere from before was interrupted.
It just so happened that Huo Yanzhi’s mood wasn’t right. They didn’t know how to change the situation if the chat continued, so they simply used the loud noise as an excuse to disperse.
Huo Yanzhi sat there without moving while the others got up one after another.
Guan Tong waved to You Mian, blew him a kiss, and said affectionately, “Good night, honey.”
You Mian smiled softly and rubbed his head. “Good night.”
Pei Huaiji got up. His steps were very slow as he passed by Guan Tong and You Mian. It was as if he wanted to stop and say something.
However, Guan Tong pestered You Mian and refused to let go. Pei Huaiji could only turn around and go back to his room.
Just as Pei Huaiji turned around and took a few steps, You Mian’s voice suddenly came from behind him. It was very soft, but it was still enough for him to hear clearly.
The young man said, “Chairman Pei, good night.”
Pei Huaiji immediately stopped and turned around. His tall figure was still indifferent. Then he pursed his lips, and there was a smile in his eyes. “Yes, good night.”
Huo Yanzhi sat at the dining table and saw this scene. His expression became even uglier.
But before he could go crazy again, everyone else went back to their rooms.
On the side, Shen Nanxiao waited for Huo Yanzhi to finally get up and leave. He stared at the other person’s back for a long time.
Shen Nanxiao didn’t talk much. He was very quiet most of the time, so when people guessed each other’s heartbeat text messages, no one guessed that he sent it to Huo Yanzhi.
At first, he thought that the guest Huo Yanzhi had a crush on must be Bai Lin. Then after he exposed his emotions several times just now, Shen Nanxiao was sure that Huo Yanzhi’s heart was on You Mian.
It was just that Huo Yanzhi didn’t know it himself. It was really strange.
Shen Nanxiao thought this, but there was no trace of discomfort or sadness in his heart.
He hadn’t expected that many of the people on this show would be acquaintances. Compared to the initial energy of wanting to find love when he first appeared on the show, he now wanted to take advantage of recording the show to take a few months off.
What was more worrying at the moment was Huo Yanzhi’s attitude toward You Mian and Pei Huaiji.
It seemed to be quite extreme.

The staff member ran up to the second floor and knocked on Bai Lin’s door. “Bai Lin? Is everything okay in your room? Do you need our hope?”
There was only a dim bedside light turned on in Bai Lin’s room. After hearing the staff member’s voice, he was stunned for a few seconds before replying, “No, it is just that the bedside lamp was accidentally dropped to the ground by me.”
The staff member was still worried. “Are you sure you don’t need a doctor?”
Bai Lin’s palm was dripping with blood as if he had been scratched by some sharp object. The dim light highlighted his increasingly gloomy eyes and expression.
Even so, he still spoke in a very cute and simple tone. “I really don’t need it, thank you.”
There was a long silence outside the door. It was only after two or three minutes that he heard the footsteps of the staff member walking down the stairs.
After finally waiting for the staff member to leave, Bai Lin leaned back against the bed with a cold face. He frowned heavily and cursed.
The huge wardrobe in his room was pushed to the ground. The shaking just now should’ve been caused by the wardrobe falling to the ground.
The floor of the room was covered with shards of glass, as if something had been smashed to the ground and broken.
A mobile phone lay in the middle of the debris.
The screen of the phone emitted a faint blue light. The interface (text message page) before it was broken could still be vaguely recognized from the broken screen.
[Notice of the make-up examination: Student number… 03, Department of Oil Painting… Bai… 26 points in Art History Appreciation…grade… unqualified. Please take the make-up exam before… day. I hereby notify you. Please…]
Bai Lin looked at the phone on the ground with a gloomy expression. He tried his best to endure the violent thoughts in his heart.
He had just knocked down the wardrobe and caused unnecessary trouble.
If there was any more noise, the show’s staff would definitely ask him to open the door.
Bai Lin sneered, got up, and tightened the jacket covering the lens.
If Bai Lin was just angry the moment when the joint clarification between the art museum and A College appeared, then his anger turned into extremely complex emotions of annoyance, jealousy, and disgust the moment he received the notice of re-examination due to unqualified grades.
Not to mention, he also received a call from Mu Ze questioning him.
Stupid person. He wasn’t a good agent and still had the nerve to scold him.
Bai Lin crouched down and called Yun Guanqing with his broken mobile phone.
The beeping sound rang in his ears. Bai Lin wasn’t sure if Yun Guanqing would pick up. He bit the nail of his thumb, nervous and at a loss.
If Yun Guanqing stepped forward to speak for him, would that disgusting group of people who claimed to be passersby still act so blatantly wild under his Weibo post?
As long as Yun Guanqing was still on his side…
Bai Lin received the heartbeat text messages from Yun Guanqing for two consecutive nights, but these two text messages couldn’t calm his anxious mood at all.
Did Yun Guanqing have a good impression of You Mian? Why else did he always see Yun Guanqing talking to You Mian recently?
The beep sounded in his ears as the call didn’t connect. Bai Lin’s tense mood gradually became irritable as the waiting time became longer and longer.
Bai Lin knew Yun Guanqing’s temperament well. They had known each other for only a short period of time, but this person’s stubborn and proud nature was obvious.
Being noticed by Yun Guanqing was very simple. He just had to be interesting enough.
However, it was also easy to be abandoned by Yun Guanqing. As long as the other person felt bored, he would abandon Bai Lin without hesitation.
Bai Lin was unwilling to lose Yun Guanqing’s interest like this. But at this moment, despite knowing that the call would disturb Yun Guanqing’s work, he still made the call.
Just as Bai Lin’s eyes widened and he was about to lose control of his emotions, the call was connected.
Yun Guanqing’s usual lazy tone was heard. “Hello?”
Bai Lin instantly choked up and sobbed, “Brother Guanqing, help me. You are the only one who can help me now.”’

On a sunny autumn morning, the sea breeze blew, and the waves rolled.
The show’s staff didn’t arrange any dating activities all day yesterday, so the eight guests received today’s date card from the staff before going to bed yesterday.
In the early morning, You Mian walked into the kitchen and raised an eyebrow when he saw the date location on the card.
This was an amusement park maze. Each path from the entrance was surrounded by a 1 meter high green wall that blocked their view.
Each route led to different amusement park rides. They were separated from each other but would unexpectedly intersect at certain locations.
The maze was like a spider web all over the task card sent by the show’s staff. It was useless even if You Mian looked at it many times and tried to remember the route.
It was because there was a line of small words at the bottom of the card.
[The maze-style diagram is for reference only. We aren’t responsible for the accuracy.]
You Mian raised the card in his hand toward the camera and shook it. He smiled helplessly. “The director is bullying me.”
The moment You Mian finished speaking, the door of a room on the first floor opened. At the same time, there were footsteps coming down from the second floor.
Since the task card indicated the appointment time, most people woke up at similar times.
However, You Mian was surprised when the person who came from the first floor was Yun Guanqing.
He remembered that he didn’t hear the sound of the door of the house being opened until late at night. This man had returned very late.
The man had his long hair tied back casually, and he was wearing loose gray pajamas. He looked like he had just woken up. His eyes were slightly narrowed, and he looked like he didn’t have enough sleep.
Yun Guanqing opened the refrigerator, took out a bottle of mineral water, and took a few sips of the cold water. Then he smiled at You Mian and said, “Good morning.”
You Mian lowered his eyes and said calmly, “Good morning.”
He thought that Yun Guanqing would come to harass him without concealment like he did several times before. Unexpectedly, the man just said hello and sat quietly at the dining table.
It was good that he didn’t have anything to say like before, but Yun Guanqing kept staring at You Mian.
You Mian: “……” What was wrong with this person?
In the silence, Guan Tong and Huo Yanzhi also came down from upstairs.
Huo Yanzhi sat opposite Guan Tong without raising his head. It was as if he was deliberately avoiding everyone and avoiding a conversation with everyone.
Guan Tong smiled without noticing it. “This is the first breakfast we have eaten together. It is really rare.”
They usually didn’t go to work or school at the same time. Therefore, this was really the first breakfast they ate together as Guan Tong said.
You Mian usually drank only a cup of coffee or soy milk for breakfast. This obviously couldn’t be the case now.
He had to say, “I will make something simple… fried eggs.”
You Mian blinked. “Who wants to eat it?”
Yun Guanqing immediately raised his hand.
Huo Yanzhi struggled with whether to raise it or not.
In front of this beauty, only Guan Tong retained a sense of sanity and asked one more question. “Honey, can you be sure there is no eggshell in the fried eggs with your cooking skills?”
You Mian stopped cracking the egg. “……”
Obviously not.
The hesitant Huo Yanzhi completely lowered his hand.
Yun Guanqing almost choked on the mineral water in his hand.
The atmosphere gradually became awkward. Then Guan Tong patted his head. “Forget it, I’ll do it myself. I know how to cook a bowl of noodles.”
Today, it was You Mian’s turn to be in charge of lunch and dinner, so he felt a bit uncomfortable doing nothing.
Guan Tong refused his fried eggs. Huo Yanzhi and Yun Guanqing, who were sitting over there… You Mian didn’t want to ask them either.
Therefore, when he heard the sound of footsteps again, You Mian quickly asked with bright eyes, “Do you want to eat fried eggs?”
Pei Huaiji, who had just walked out of his room, paused slightly.
The chairman, who was decisive in the business world and even counted every decimal point in the contract very carefully, didn’t hesitate at this moment. He didn’t know what he was about to face and immediately responded, “Eat.”
40 minutes later, in order to apologize, You Mian revealed to Pei Huaiji that the first stop of the maze that he might go to was the pirate ship.

I always find it shameful that parents can really let their children grow to adulthood without ever learning how to cook. It doesn’t have to be to the level of a professional chef like so many of these kinds of stories want to do, but it should at least be edible and taste decent. I do have the same opinion about a lot of stereotypically gendered things, but food really is the most offensive to me. Like, you’ll really let your child leave home without being able to survive on their own?
Believe me, I am woman and I can’t cook to save myself. Some people just can’t cook or hate their own cooking. I am the later. I am always trying to cook something simple like fried egg or just other plain fried food, but it always end of with disaster, it’s either burned or not cooked enough. Or when I succed to make it, the teste become so plain that I can’t stomach it even if my family and friends said it’s tasty. Before you judge me I always trying to learn to cook but it’s always failed, so rather than wasting the food, instant food is the best option. So don’t blame some people if they can’t cook maybe they like me helpless when it’s comes to cooking. 🤣 (sorry with my english)
I wholeheartedly agree, but let’s not forget that not everyone can produce decent food even if they learned how to cook, similar to not everyone can draw a decent picture just by learning how to use crayons 🤣 my father is like this. He could do simple dishes or just fry eggs or tofu, but the result was always rather questionable 😭 I’ve tried his omelette and fried tofu before and it was so unbearably salty that I couldn’t even save it by eating them with rice 💀 not to mention that most of the cooking tutorials on the internet often don’t cover basic skills of using kitchen utensils bc people would assume they already have these common knowledge, like heating the wok/pan first and then season it with oil to prevent sticking, or that you can’t put ingredients with water into hot oil lest it explode and burn you, or that when cracking open an egg, you have to gently pull apart the egg shells rather than pry your thumbs into the crack (a common mistake that usually result in broken yolks and dropped egg shells), people learning by themselves wouldn’t know these things, and if their skills were especially bad, it could be worse and gradually discouraged them from trying further 😅
I grew up in the US watching Good Eats and it is literally the pivotal show that made me into a halfway decent cook. Because knowing the process is only half the battle, but knowing the cause and effect is more meaningful. Knowing WHY something works the way it does is a lot more useful to some people rather than simply being content with learning the process and accepting that it spits out a certain result at the end. Even so, almost all of my cooking skills are self-taught or learned from television cooking shows or youtube videos because my mom isn’t a particularly amazing cook and my dad is a pretty incompetent cook and refuses to bother to learn at this late stage of life.
I’ve made a lot of things that are only okay at best and vaguely disgusting at worst, but the experience has trained me to understand how certain things are meant to behave as they’re cooking. I figured out how to crack eggs without getting shell in the egg by age 10, once I was finally tall enough to see over the countertop. I just know that I would feel deeply ashamed to have a child of mine go out into the world without the ability to feed themselves. They don’t need to be able to make exquisite dishes, but they should be able to cook enough that I don’t need to worry about them starving.
